  1. And for those of you who can't get the V serial numbers, but don't mind spending 99p :- https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ford-Radio-Unlock-Code-M-V-Serial-Escort-Fiesta-Focus-Mondeo-Transit/291745224323?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649
  2. Couldn't agree more ..................... Today's Rant ........................ FFS, why in this day and age does everyone expect everything for nothing, and other even more stupid cunts, (no offence intended ), actually do it for nothing !! So I have the Radio Decoders, didn't cost me much, a lot can be downloaded for free !! I charge £60 per hr Retail in my Workshop, by the time I've stopped what I'm doing, loaded the relevant program etc, it has taken at least 5 minutes, that's a fiver !! But if one did but do a bit of googling (1 minute it took me yesterday), a guy on EBay will give you the Code for 99p, and it comes via EMail within 3 minutes ..................... I finished an Engine swap on a Focus yesterday, V serial Radio Code, customer didn't have it, so I went to my Workshop Laptop, on which are the Decoders, FUCK, Windows 10 doing an update Customer due to pick car up, so 1 minute on google and 3 mins later for 99p I have the Code !! I wouldn't dream of asking someone to do it for free !! I did charge the billy a fiver for decoding it tho This is one of the many reasons thios country is in the state it is in !! Rant over
  3. That Black Car is transformed with those new Photo's, Wheel Trims and Tyre Buff, looks million times nicer, much less of a "Pikey offering" !! Good on you for taking the advice on board Sadly you would not take what I would want to pay for it LOL, I have to steal every Car I buy or I can't be bothered to flip it That will sell now !! Losing the pissed "Torque" Plates and turning the front Wheels great !! One final critique, the Joggers / Trainers reflection in rear bumper might put some billies off
  4. We only have coo's up here and they sell coo juice
  5. If you don't mind me being blunt, how much did you pay for said pile of crap Engine ?? To me, depending how much money was involved depends upon how much effort / aggro I'd be prepared to put into recovering the dosh................... Yep, they are obviously a Cowboy outfit, any decent company would, by now, have just said, "OK mate, the Engine was dud, we don't have a good one, here's a refund" !!
  6. Aha, yep, my bad, the Insignia was indeed the belt engine, that's how it all started lol, Inverness garage put a belt on it, 2000 miles later crunch, no start !! Garage basically told the guy to fuck off Then I got it, Heads away getting rebuilt right now I know the engine you mean, had 19 tonnes on one of those injectors once before it started creeping up, a guy i know who travels and does them says he has had to machine them out sometimes, real brutal like
  7. Sheep ???????????? Wellies ??????????????
  8. Def +1 then it would be much better than house shots
  9. Oh, Picanto is 1k too low price too even at 72k IMHO
  10. I don't know how it works in SW Scotland, but here in NW at 20k miles I'd get £3.5k all day long for that PIXO, so to me it is too cheap and putting folk off Fresh MOT without advises is a must on this age Car. Agreed re the Background for pictures. HTH
  11. /\ /\ /\ +1 VDubs sure are shit !! I've got several on my workshop books, one is a V10 Touareg, one a Tiguan 4 motion, plus a few lesser Golfs and shite, they all spend plenty dosh in here
  12. That is exactly how I got my fully loaded Supercharged S Class, one owner Car, it started out with a simple Transmission Fault, just out of Warranty at 34k miles, when it went to MB Stealer. Owner was a local old fella, didn't like MB's quote to change the Conductor Plate, (unbeknown to him that wasn't the fault anyways lol), it then went to another Garage who sent it back still with Limp Mode Trans, they had charged him to fit Conductor plate !! But now it had no Lights washers etc on Right Front, then it went to another Garage and came home on a Recovery Wagon, non starter !! The old guys health was failing, I wasn't running the Garage back then, hadn't long been up here, so he stuck it in a barn and there it sat for 6 years until he died. I had a quick look at it for him about a year before he died, lot's of no communication errors, I said yes I can fix it, but I wouldn't give a firm quote so he declined. His son was selling up the old boys Croft 2 years ago and asked my advice in the Bar one night ...................., he had been offered buttons for it by Dronsfield MB Breakers, but he had to get it to them I told him even if someone was good enough to lend him a recovery wagon, (no chance round here), it would still cost him at least £250 minimum in Diesel, so offered him even less and ended up with it !! At this time neither myself nor the son knew what the exact Mileage was, (Cluster was blank due to dead EIS), but I had guessed it was fairly low Used Trans ECU £16, Used Front Right SAM £35, ECU, Shifter EIS and Keys kit £195, bit of SDS Coding and she was alive and kicking And boy does this beast kick with 500+ bhp Full and Thorough Service and Full Brakes all round, MOT passed with no advisories Oh, and the son is now a good customer / buddy of mine, spends a lot of money on his own MB's here, and is also glad to see the old fellas old S Class back on the road again
  13. That about sums it up The only thing I didn't see done to it :- Has has anyone reset adaptives / relearn, but that is a very long shot Oh, "Mechatronic" btw ........................ Mechanical / Electronic Valve Block
  14. I cannot believe you allowed a breaker to take an Engine apart and try to fix it, I've seen plenty of breakers yard "workshops and mechanics" and I wouldn't trust 'em with a kids scooter !! I bought a set of those followers last week for an Insignia, arrived within a day ..................... Didn't cure it, it had also bent the Valves !! I'd buy another Engine, (hear it running first), get the Van done and gone !! Ask for a refund, if he doesn't play nicely, and if you are pissed off enough, then send a "collector" round to get yer money back / slap said breaker around a bit
  15. I agree with you on old Cars but the trouble with using Live Wire or Power Probe on more modern Cars (read post 2000's, anything with Immo), is unless you really know what you are doing you can fry Modules, for example Engine ECU, Electronic Ignition Switches, Immobilizer Components, Transmission ECU etc............... On various different Cars any one or a combination of those I listed have to "Authorise" an Engine Start, usually via the Starter Relay earth !! Believe me when I say most "Mechanics" do not understand how Vehicle Electrics / Electronics work Nick has already got it running by bridging the Starter relay, thus eliminating the Starter. At the stage they are at now my prime suspect would be Ignition Switch related
  16. Aye, that's cheaper than a PRNDL Switch Surely if it is that £1040 housing broken, Used Scrapyard Part or Repair the bugger is the best option If that is a common proberlermo I'd bet there is an American "U Tube Video" of how to repair it There you go LOL, I'm not actually sure what BJ stands for in this Guys case, perhaps he has a sideline to earn extra cash
  17. Yeah, but have you not heard that "Dial a Shags" always drop their Chips Mine were fairly 'high end' Dial a Shags and to be fair, at the time, they probably didn't know that they were Dial a Shags Our local restaurants always used to grin when i'd show up with a different one, but to be fair they never said a dicky bird I like Chinese and Indian, and also when living on your own it saves time cooking and washing up, and a bunk up at the end of it .................... "Every Ones A Winner, Petit De Journais Rodney" as they say in Peckham
  18. You don't have to buy anything off Snap On on finance, only mugs would !! The interest is ridiculous on Snap On EC, I always just pay him at end of month for whatever I've had off the Van during that month !! For example, a local Garage owner bought a Tool Box stack off Snap On on EC, same as both my stacks, I got a deal at £4000 on each of mine despite the fact that my Black one was bought over 20 years ago, and the Green one 4 years ago, same price !! OK, I'm not so certain that the New Green one is quite as good quality as the Black one, Black one is still mint condition today, Green one was probably manufactured in China, only time will tell, but I needed another one so I bought Identical, they both look awesome stood each end of my Workshop, and all drawers are full of mostly Snap On Tools !! Local Garage owner bought a Blue one, same time as I bought the Green One, same stack, £4k agreed (same price), but he took out the EC, when he had finished paying it he had paid almost 8k !!
