  1. LOL, I don't disagree However I always want to buy everything for nowt, there is always a lot of jobs I do to make any Car Retail Worthy in my eyes. Then there comes that magic MSport badge on any BMW, the clowns who drive them give them a really hard life, and in my eyes a 12 year old 2.0 will be a ticking time bomb. Funnily enough, as a "general rule" it doesn't apply to MB's AMG, Brabus etc..................Except in my case, I drive all mine like a hooligan I have blown up 3 CDI motors and 2 V12's over many years, always a piston on the CDI's, always bottom end on the V12s, and never through lack of regular maintenance. Always repaired 'em by buying a scrapper with good Engine I've never burst an M113 V8 though even when running high boosts on the Kompressor ones My old man always used to say BMW's are for people who are scurrying around at warp speed trying desperately to get somewhere in life, whereas MB's are for those who have already got there
  2. Fix it yourself FFS, stick a set of plugs in it plus a coil pack and wave it bye bye Around £60 in parts from decent factors and 20 minutes work
  3. I'd want to buy that Car at 2.5k , plenty in the pot for the inevitable 'pants shat incident' and still leave a decent profit FFS it's a 12 year old Bimmer
  4. Looks like AD just got his purchase price back on that minger
  5. Exactly, couldn't agree more, couldn't have put it better
  6. Best October in 3 years here, but more so through the Workshop than Sales
  7. Fuckin LOLOLOLOLOLOL Best one this week
  8. TBH Water Pumps are one of the (nowadays) many parts that I use OEM or even OE. Too many "Factor" parts now made of Chinesium, by Chiyaneeeeeeeesies in Chiyanar So you think, German Engineering, "Lifetime Guarantee", I'll buy me a Meyle Pump they are a reasonable price .......................... "Made In China" ..................... Sure, they'll give you another when it goes wrong, cost them about $5 to produce, what they won't do is pay you the half a day labour, the coolant etc etc Fuckin world is overrun by the shit they are churning out, and half of it don't even work outta the box, then there's all the Emails fucing around trying to get a refund, nah, sorry, OE or OEM on most stuff these days for me, a whole lot easier in the long run Yes of course I buy Factor parts for older Cars, but I'm very choosy now, and it's often a decision made by "how long it will take to fit ?" and "what are the implications when it surely falls apart ?"
  9. Absolutely 100% , Couldn't agree more. Part of the reason I don't get many comebacks is because there is always something needs fetching from Inverness, (120 mile round trip from me), so apart from my PDI, 90% of my Cars do that trip before getting sold ..................... I always look at each Car with the question "Would I be happy for my Kids / GF to drive it from here to Kent and back ??" and if the answer is yes then it is ready for sale I don't sell the Volume some guys do, 6 a month, so it works for me, I know it's not practical for guys down south, jeez it would probably take you a week to drive just one Car 120 miles with all the traffic Fact is though, with my situation, a trip to IV, a trip to Kyle for MOT Test, and a run to the Take Away / Shops and they have all done around 200 miles before I sell 'em
  10. All I'm sayin is I'd far rather be the one to find the dodgy radiator before I sell the car than the billy, who drives it to destruction and costs me an engine. I stand by what I said, if the rad bursts it was fucked anyway !! And agree, a big no no to leak fix shite it will just clog up all sorts of modern cooling system components.
  11. That's the whole point of the pressure test !! If it bursts the Radiator or anything else springs a leak then it's fucked and needs doing !! I always Pressure Test at 5psi over cap pressure btw Yeah, ok if it bursts the Rad it might cost you £200, but if the Rad bursts on Billy it will likely cost you an Engine
  12. Press and Hold #1 and #6, keep holding, it will scroll through some other numbers then near the end it will say V###### , you have to be quick to catch it, or do it again ......................... That is the serial number required for the code generator s/w Yes there is a guy on EBay here :- https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ford-Radio-Unlock-Code-M-V-Serial-Escort-Fiesta-Focus-Mondeo-Transit/291745224323?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649 Does them for 99p, you get them within 5 minutes, he's the one I have used in the past, perrrrrrrrfect He will be a lot quicker than me if I'm busy in Workshop, I did Just Looking's basically to help him out on a Sunday, as I was on my server doing other stuff. but I'm not that interested in doing them all day long for £4 a time, I was joking in the above post
  13. Good painter / detailing man would be better IMHO ...................... you really can polish a turd
  14. Red to Black, Black to Red, Blue to bits
  15. I'm just a plastic jock lol, only been here nearly 12 years, another 8 to go before I'm "officially sanctioned" by the locals
  16. Pressure test is excellent part of PDI, I don't do every one, but I stick a fair few miles on'em first, and if one uses coolant it gets fixed
  17. In actual fact, the OP doesn't know what is wrong with it, as he hasn't got it back to base yet !! Plentymost mis diagnosis and also just plain liars out there
  18. I agree, sounds to me like the knob jockey billy had the water pump spring a leak and roasted it !! That is consequential damage by neglect. Personally, (not that I'd have sold that turd in the first place), but I'd get it back, pay and fix the Water Pump, and then tell billy the HG is down to him as it is consequential damage through being run out of coolant !!
