LOL, WTF is a proper Range Rover, they stopped making them in 1990 didn't they Back then when I was into Power Boats I had a self built bare shell rebuild Vogue that I shoehorned, (properly), a 6.5 litre V8 Chevy Blazer Turbo Diesel into, with 1:1 Transfer box, that was an awesome weapon for towing the Boats with and I never broke it Sold it for a naffing fortune to another Power Boat guy when I moved

My advice would be either C or E Class estate's , you will pay more for a sub 120k miler, Saloons don't get such high miles in the first few years as Estates seem to. Lower Miles = (hopefully) won't spend as much on it when you first buy it. Don't rely on Main Stealer Service History, First service on one of our New Vehicles the wankers didn't change the Oil Filter ....................... There was "Fuck On" over that one I can tell you !! 4 Matic (4WD) Versions are out there I have 4 MB's on my own personal fleet, of various ages and mileages. Every single one of them was bought cheap, even the "New" 2017 one, and I spent ££££ getting the used ones up to perfect repair when first purchased. They now all drive faultlessly, will travel 2000 miles + round trips without any hassles at all, and all they get is regular serviced annually, including tyres and the odd replacement part when needed. Any VAG and even BMW is a ticking time bomb, especially Diesels. You will get 300k + from a decent MB with proper maintenance and not fitting Chinesium Parts !! HTH

Never a problem, I work on these Cars all day long
-
/\ /\ /\ LOL, you old Spin Doctor you That's the kinda shit I'd throw at them if questioned, thankfully all I have to do is have the odd Quad Bike, Strimmer, Mower, and Outboard (fishing), etc sitting around, of which I personally have a few stored at the back of my Workshop, then I can chuck the "Agricultural Crofter" card at them Luckily, since up here, I've never needed to

Exactly that, usual price depending on model averages around £25 squid Most MB have the Mirror Cover spring clips in different places, model series to model series. Until you get used to them Google / You Tube is your friend And remember, on MB Mirrors always use the motors to move stuff, don't force things or you will FUBAR the Mirror I usually remove the Mirror Glass first, again Google where the metal Clip is, it just saves that pop, smash, oh bollocks moment and makes it easier to slide the cover off and on HTH Oh and don't buy the 7.50 ebay chinese ones unless you want a load of random error reports on the Dash Cluster from DCM

FFS !! They are LEDs not bulbs, second those mirrors will be ruined if you force them back, most W203 C Class have Powerfold mirrors and forcing them back just wrecks the motor system, I know that 'cos my stupid neighbour did it !! Your problem is likely the connectors between the LED Indicator Repeaters and the Wiring plug inside the Mirror, it takes 5 minutes to get the covers off the mirrors, then use copious contact cleaner and distort the pis slightly for a tighter fit then they will work again. I do plenty of MB Indicator Repeaters, 99% are bad connections HTH pins !! not pis lol

Thanks for that, luckily my compressor is in it's own house outside, and I've just installed traps filters etc

I can vouch for that /\ /\ /\ I've just got back into Paintwork as the only paint shop that was any good for 70 mile Radius has stopped Bodywork, his painter left because the Garage is up for sale. So last week I started having a practice, on my Resto Project Merc, I Painted the Bootlid, a light metallic Blue. Not a bad job as I haven't pained for years, couple of lacquer runs, but let it harden and razor bladed them, I will not need to do it again, just letting it harden before flatting and polishing, I was coughing and wheezing for a couple of days after, never normally do, and I had used a normal filter type Mask, made my eyes itchy for a coupleof days too. Has gone away now !! I just bought a Honeywell Air Fed Mask kit and a bunch of tear off visors Will be painting the rest of it in between other jobs soon now, as I've got my wrist back in tune
-
I'd have added £100 to the Sales Car Price, "Vehicle disposal fee" for the "chopper" ........................... BTW did you tell him "Chopper" is another word for COCK !!

Who the hell would want COOBDEZ

/\ /\ /\ LIKE Oh yeah !! Sooooooo True

LOL that was about 5 years after I had been told to stop Trading by the Council; so I had gotten premises ........................ I can be an awkward fucker with a long memory Thankfully I am no longer in that situation, my nearest neighbour is about 1/6th mile away, behind dense trees, and both immediate neighbours are good Workshop Customers Folks up here don't give a shit what anyone does, provided it is not impacting upon their own life Similarly, if a noobie moves in and want's to start telling everyone what to do they soon get educated in "Rural Heilan Life", I've seen one or 2 piss off back south after a couple of years because they have been ostricised by the locals !! I've been here 11 years now, and will have to be here another 9 at least before I'm classed as a local, but that said I get on well with everyone
-
LOL, again, 30 years ago, I bought a 7 meter Caravan to park up at our Water Ski Club and stay each weekend. I was doing a lot of work adding extras like On Board Water Tank etc at home over a winter and it wouldn't go in my garage, so I parked it on the road. 2 weeks later, Council turned up, told me to move it it was not legal........................ I hooked it on my Taxed and Insured Range Rover, plugged in the lights and told 'em to fuck off !! Used one of my other cars and left it their until Easter, if they'd left me alone, I'd have had it moved by Christmas Not a damned thing they could do about it, and now i was taking up another space in the road

OK, Apologies, just seen AD post, but 35 years ago Dartford BC shut me down !! I'll watch No offence taken btw So what about prep work ?? I'm bloody sure painting a wing or draining oil would cause a problem, simply selling maybe not ??
-
On a 4 Car drive, you can have 4 Cars, but Council would need proof they are registered to you or anyone living at yours on Electoral Roll, and not "In Trade", which apart from de valuing your stock would be a right PITA !!
-
I had this donkeys years ago when I lived in England SE !! It's just typical jealous cunts with the "He's doing OK, must be on the fiddle" mentality, but believe me these arse holes can, and probably will get you shut down !! Sorry to be the bearer of bad tidings but .......................... The first and minimum thing that will happen is your local Council will hit you for Business Rates etc etc, but they would probably issue enforcement proceedings after warning you, to close you down by saying Residential Area Property is not suitable for Motor Trades I'd advise against Invoices with all different details, HMRC would have a "field day" and cane you with "their estimates of un declared " for that HTH

LOL, yeah, but she has been ripped off by others, and b/f spends a fortune with me on his old E46 BuM Wipe, and I'm certain she will be back with the VW (Moon on stick) ....................... love that btw
-
Exactly, say that and no more
-
Scabby Shed with clonking front end, I looked no further, but the Engines sweet !! I offered her her £120 back before she left, as I have another Focus coming in later in week with a "3 Cylinder" dead engine, but she wants to think about that !! FFS @Del Boy Yeah probably right, but even her b/f new it made far more sense to fix the fuckarse
-
LOL OK, so I towed her car in on Friday eve, 1 hour, I diagnosed it half hour, I researched it all, half hour, so I'm now at 2 hours. I offered to fix it here myself and charge her £200 all in, could have had the car back all done last night Her fella tells her get it fixed by me, (he's a good customer of mine) !! After multiple phone calls asking dumb questions ..................... "Ill scrap it says she, I've been offered an 04 plate Diesel VW for 300 quid" So she pays me my 2 hours, and drives away in limp mode, after I had to thump the dash to get it started ................. For another £80 she could have had the devil she knows fixed !! And then when the knackered old VW shits its pants next week ...................... = ££££££££££££ Billys
-
I thought so, thanks for confirming. I'll have a look myself, I have Illuminated Lab Magnifier and posh Snap On Gas Soldering Iron, bought that a few weeks back, yet to use it !! If it's beyond my skills and eyesight do you have a contact info for your guy ? I could see if he'll do a postal service on it I'm gonna go have a look for an eastern block "How to Vid" on U Tube See what sorta jobbie it is before stripping it and fucking it Here we go :- I'll watch it all the way through, looks like i can do this myself and the symptoms described are exactly like this Car I have
-
You can probably buy all of the wheels off Simon and get the car for free

It could be almost anything I do know that there is a known fault / repair for Instrument cluster, and I do know that the CAN Comms go through Instrument Cluster, Cluster is also part of Immobilizer. I left it running a while, upon return the lights had come on again on Dash, and also "Reduced Acceleration" Message, plus rev counter on zero but engine still running in limp mode. I have never had a Focus with this fault, I try to stay away from old Fix Or Repair Daily's these days and have never experienced this particular problem. TBH, I'm already at an hours time on it, another couple of hours will write the tatty old shitter off Cluster repair will be around £250, plus labour, and it almost certainly has other issues, me thinks it's a scrapper !! Changing the subject slightly, I do have another similar vintage Focus coming in later this week with no compression on 1 of it's cylinders, if the engines are the same I might offer the guy a nifty for it and just swap 'em, only trouble is I'll have another scrapper that I can't get rid of then
