Nice Car My 34,000 mile S Class was well over £110k when the original owner bought it new in 2006 He died, and I bought it off his son as a Barn Find non runner project for absolute buttons 10 years later and apart from the few remaining panels I have left to finish paintwork bits on, it is now back to absolutely perfect If only some of the pesky Customers would gimme a break so I can finish it some time soon !!

All the wasted spark V12's do that, but you can get Rebuilt ones now at half that price, and rebuilt Ignition Transformer too. The usual reason they go is 2 fold ........................ Either tosser mechanic draws them out unevenly with a lever bar, which breaks the solder joints to board from the individual coils, or the Champagne / lemonade brigade don't pay out for a decent service, plug gaps end up about half a mile and the Firing Voltages go through the roof which stresses them until the power transistors on the board go pop. One of my customers has 165k miles on his M275 V12, still both coil packs and tranny are original, always had it's plugs changed, and always used the Cassette Extractor tool, also always change the rubber boots when changing the plugs, they cost buttons from MB

I think you are right there Yup !! Mind i was hoping there was gonna be a totalled S Class at the end of the 2nd vid, with the knob jockey crying I have driven my S55Kompressor in "Dyno" Mode, only the once ............... and I'm used to going sideways through gravel track Stages at insane speeds, boys let me tell ya, a supercharged S Class is one hefty motor to be lighting up the rear end through twisties, switch it outta dyno and back to TC off (which it isn't actually it's just less "nanny") put Suspension in Sport 1 damping and then it will corner sideways very well without slinging you towards a cliff edge and scaring the shit out of you Yeah, that first Video sounds just like an Enzo or Lambo , you can't beat an N/A V12 for sounding very busy and howling at high RPM The TT V12's although ballistic missiles in comparison just don't sound the same with an F1 type exhaust

Yeah, I used to buy and sell plenty LADA's and make silly money on them back in the good old days in Dartford

I know a local Garage who put his starter charger on his 4 year old Vivaro last week, starter charger was left on 24 Volts from starting a lorry, Vivaro is an economical write off !!

Always said they were a wooly's car

LIKE Thing is you absolutely must compare it to a similar sized and specced Car, otherwise it's a wank comparison. And as for Honest John, well ffs, comparing it to an Astra or Pug, fuck right off !! 2 of the worst Cars ever, so yep, if I was in the market for a smaller Car the Auris would get my vote Up here, surrounded by salt water, everything rusts underneath, blasting with clear waxoyl each year pre winter so just about now, stops that

Well judging by the amount of Vauxhall's I see in the workshop on a weekly basis that have shat their nappies, Crank Sensors, Chains, EGR's, Coil Packs, 02 Sensors, MAF's etc etc etc I'm guessing you've just been lucky Yeah, agreed, probably get more VW's lol, but then no one brings a car to me unless it's fucked and others have scratched their heads and sucked through their teeth anyways, at least they don't quibble about the bills up here though, and once they've been here once they then bring them back for everything else too That 07 Expert Van ended up with a £2700 bill, he looked at Invoice, laughed, went home in his now perfect again Van, and next morning paid in full by BT

Very rare for a Vauxhallamabob to put a fault light on

Trouble is, the Generics don't access all areas, so can easily lead you up the Garden Path........................ Case in point yesterday ..................... 2007 Peugeot Expert, hardly a technological masterpiece....................... Snap On Solus Ultra Pro read "all systems", 6 Systems actually, when I plugged in the Peugeot Planet Diagbox, there's actually 14 Systems on the Van, one or 2 with Faults the Snap On simply didn't see. To anyone on here wanting a decent all rounder Generic, spend around £450 on an Autel Maxidas, best bang for the buck right now compared to other Generics. Go for the one around £1k if you want an even better one and need not to be giving some dosh to HMRC The better the machine, the more you will learn too. If you are a tight arse looking to spend £50 on some OBD Pish then don't bother, keep the Nifty in your pocket and get a decent Take Away supper HTH

I agree, I've said that a few times in this thread, albeit in slightly different words ...................... "Any code that affects Airflow through the Engine will stop ECU from doing auto regen" I think that's a bit harsh ....................... Take me for an example, been in Motor Trade since I was 15 but ...................... I've never run a busy sales environment, I just buy repair and sell a few for a very good Profit !! My core business nowadays is Diagnostics and Rectification works, (Workshop). I average 5 sales Cars a month, in a very unique environment, never advertise etc so I couldn't possibly advise some of you guys on how to increase Sales, Format Adverts and take Photo's etc etc.. However when someone has a problem car although it is difficult across the Internet I can and will give advice on that Some Noob's yes clueless, some will have knowledge, maybe they no Finance, maybe they know Advertising, maybe they know Air Conditioning ??? Maybe their old man is one of the MD's of Arnold Clark *know

Well Said LOL, we don't up here Fucking arse hole tourists coming in, use toilet, hook up to Wi Fi, ask us the bus times, the way to this and that and don't even buy a Diet Coke I tell 'em to fuck off, like most of the locals. Now and then we get the odd good guy, sticks around, has a beer, gets the craic with us ................ Then we will tell him what is a good place to eat, what are good road trips and what are a waste of time etc etc, buy 'em a single malt and get on the drammies wi' em if they are really nice, or have really nice crumpet with them ( I digress often do) Just the same on here, I agree with EPV, a lot are private billies looking to learn how we do business, but for those who are genuine noobs, yeah, I'll help and advise, but I do need to clock a post or 2 first so I can try to sniff out Genuine Trader or Billy Bunter twat

He didn't get a month trouble free, he just didn't feel it slowly blocking DPF until it got to critical level, at which point it went downhill very quickly, according to OP. Exactly how quickly Fault Lights come back on depends entirely on the ECU programming strategy, some Cars can take a few hundred miles before Light will come back on, some cars straight away................... Yes, if you re read it after a day or 2 you may see the fault as a "pending", but most ECU's need to see this kind of fault a few times before the lights come back on. This is why so many Cars bought at auction do not surface faults until they've done a few hundred miles, because Vendor turned the lights out !! Yes it is speculation on my part, not having had it in my Workshop, but this stuff is what I do day in / day out. On most DPF equipped Cars any pending or actual code which affects air flow through the engine will halt auto regen until the fault is repaired. Sadly most manufacturers will not release there ECU Strategies, and bearing in mind that VAG Emissions Scandal I expect they have all been deleted / burned
