  1. I don’t think writing to the courts is a bad thing, just make sure you keep all the evidence. Unfortunately I think this will go to court. You just need to make sure you are seen to be doing the right thing, and you can prove it. I.e offered him the money back following an inspection etc. He is the one being unreasonable not you. The judge won’t care who replied to who or who hasn’t read letters etc. The judge will just look at the facts. You have offered a refund, however following a suspicious set of events you want an inspection first. That’s perfectly reasonable.
  2. This! Once he has blown the cash, he will be doing something else.
  3. The way you’re going Lucas why don’t you take both?
  4. The correct way to paint wings is to blend the colour into the front doors aswell, otherwise the colour will be noticeable against the 10 year old faded paint of the door.
  5. Lucas, how did you get on with your manual driving test the other week?
  6. They probably did but you won’t be able to prove it so I’d forget about that.
  7. If he isn’t agreeing to your terms regarding inspection then get his comments in writing and see him in court.
  8. I don’t agree. Why should he give in? This bloke might be in bed with the mechanics, buying cars from dealers, stripping them for parts then getting a full refund? I would accept the car back and have a mechanic with you to give a neutral assessment of the vehicle upon its return. If it’s been played about with then use the report in court.
  9. Sorry to hear this David. Could it be someone at the dealership has intercepted the information, opened a new bank account and sent the fraudulent email to you?
  10. The speedo says 150mph, doesn’t mean it can do it!
  11. I’ve had this twice recently. One was additive low, and other was dpf end of life. I just reset both of them on the machine and light went off.
  12. They were probably the ones who reported you to the council lol
  13. Another peach of a thread! This guy makes Benji look like he knows what he’s talking about!
  14. Lol yes, I’ve had this before. They both show as ‘Cooper S’ on the hpi. The Works is turbo charged rather than the usua supercharged (amongst a few other things).
  15. What’s this got to do with a car dealer forum? You’ll be better off asking the question on mumsnet!
  16. Best newbie: Dave. Love how he talkes about Mel and all his ‘dealer level’ diag equipment. Most helpful member: Nick. Same goes for the old AT forum. Best thread: I nearly bought an Astra. Grumpiest member: BHM (wins bronze, silver and gold. Rookie of the year: Benji or Lucas. Best syrup of the year: Simon.
  17. I agree with all the above - let him do what he wants at his own cost. They WILL rip it to pieces though. I once had an 'RAC' guy over on behalf of a customer. He said it had a concerning oil leak. Car was bone dry underneath. Good luck!
  18. I use the Launch x431 V+ pro. In my opinion it is superb. Does everything and uses a wireless OBD connector so you can be working in the engine bay whilst reading live data.
  19. Parents buying cars for their children (particularly first car) are always difficult. I had a guy slamming the brakes on at 40 mph to test the ABS was working just recently!

This is noticable by blue smoke from exhaust. I assume this is a 2.0l 4 cylinder engine?
  21. Threatening? If you have it in writing then report her to the police. I wouldnt stand for that. The fault wasnt there at point of sale. End of.
