£500/600 job
But imagine if it was the door seal !

Yep - I remember a 1 year old Mk7 Golf with what I assumed was a leaky heater matrix (sympton: wet passenger carpet)
Went 3.5K under CAP -

Ahh, I know, they have spent a fortune on consultants, and the general public 'figure' this means it's been reduced to the bare bones.
Always one to embrace new ideas so we will change all the prices to end in £X,291 'n see them fly away.
Either Evans Halshaw or Paragon use the last digit to denote time left in inventory before it goes to auction
-
But the auction car was a White Fast Ford.
Still dear, bearing in mind people only paid £14.5k new, and its 5 years old. -
"VW Audi 'Less than Perfect' " ??
What I'm talking about was at BCA Walsall, they would have 2/3 newish Audi's on 'Direct Select' near the start of the auction and they always had a vague fishy history. -
Those with courtesy cars, what do your customers do for insurance ?
Day Insure is more than car hire these days -
^ People forget to hang in there.
You can still pick up some good buys if you watch online 5 x auctions and don't leave your seat, even on busy auctions when others in the hall aren't paying attention.- 1

Anyone else remember 1-2 year old unrecorded but substantially damaged and rebuilt 'Direct from Main Dealer Audi' coming through BCA ?
Often not in the catalogues

Andy - you seem to buy a lot of troubled cars

Facebook owners clubs and classifieds?

I know of a guy that always has 3-4 of the things. Dirt cheap at auction

ABS DSC pump requires refurb/replacement.

Im fairly sure that a lot of the refurb services are just supplying 2nd hand ones with the mileages adjusted
-
I blew up the clocks on a Mk1 Focus through a jumpstart.
These days it is easier and cheaper to find clocks on ebay with a similar mileage for £20

I sometimes feel you could buy cars from BCA/Manheim and sell them for more on DA.
You could probably tell them to collect from the auction centres too. -

Another day, another 6 pages of A4 made worthless. Not even 1 provisional today and I had around 40+ vehicles watched and bid upon.
The double hall bid was out in force today. How can the auctioneer see my 2 bids on the bounce while seeing 2 people in the hall? If he's watching the screen for my bid he's not watching the hall., it's impossible.
Derby and Nottingham were unreal today.
Can't stand Derby BCA, always very dear

Was watching BB, PeterB, Bedford and all made silly crazy. Over CAP clean without fees.
Only had 7 vehicles on my lists today but didn't even get second bidder on one of them! Wouldn't mind so much, but now I have about 25 spaces. Been a crazy start to the year with some of these prices. Don't particularly want to go back to Manheim but it's looking more and more likely.
Jag XF - 2011, 35k, White, V6 Premium Lux, CAP £12,200 - Made £12,750 - Retails on AT @ £14,260...
It's a crazy game right now.
Yes cars that used to generate GP of 20% are down to 10%

There is a lucrative market for one way European van hire
-
Food for thought:
A friend paid £500 for 48 one way LHD van hire from Barcelona to Birmingham

The ones that I watch till seem to buy for 10% Gross at least, so not exactly peanuts.

At times, I have considered outsourcing listing and photo editing to one of those Eastern European freelancer / home workers for a few quid an hour...

I know it’s old but it’s a reliable Skoda auto which is worth something to people.
£1295 !? Where in the country are you ?!

The car supermarkets still hoover them up at the sales though

I would watch the Scottish BCA auctions and rarely saw much that made it worthwhile to transport 350 miles to the Midlands.
Some cheap commercials mind.
