There are some nice local beaches, would a drive to the beach and use that as a backdrop be better?

Not necessary, in fact it might even make you look like a private seller.

In front the unit is fine as long as the photo is taken on a good camera for instance

Totally agree, everyone laughs at the french, i have never had a clio fail an mot over emissions unlike almost every single polo i have bought, still scratch my head at people in the trade (and long time traders not newbies ) still waving there hands in the air like they just dont care over polos

These days i see a vw heading into the ring and its my alarm clock for a toilet brake.

It occurred to me, many Renault Kangoo / Nissan NV200 with the 1.5 DCI clock up 200k with just regular servicing.

    I just bought one into stock. 5.0 V8 7k 16 plate.

I don't think there seems to be that many about for sale and the viewing stats are high for it. Anyone fancy placing bets on how long I am looking at it for?

The red one from BCA last week?

Needs properly scanning and diagnosing with real time data. Don't throw it back yet, sometimes it's a cheap fix.

Be aware these engines do not like pattern fuel filters....and owners don't like paying for an OE one.....24 quid!

If it dies under high fuel load conditions keep an eye on fuel rail pressure on the hoof - two person job though - if it drops suspect filter.

Other suspects are sticking/grungy turbo vanes anoung others mentioned above. Worse when cold. Can be an easy fix and cheap fix.

......you have balls of steel buying a TDCi with a slushbox behind it.....or astride more correctly;)

All that from a glow plug light ?

Not the usual glow plug controller on other stuff?

Never bothered ringing previous owner/dealer but I’ve bought a few advertised as no history and one key then been passed two keys and wedge of history at the payment window.

No matter what the price point or age, with VAG products you’re always going to be dealing with VAG men with one eye constantly on the bottom line.

I think I’d rather gouge out one of my eyes with a spoon than constantly deal with them greedy/fussy/nitpicking/big-talking punters day after day.

I used to follow Belgrave Motor Company in Sheffield.

A few years back they did a successful line base company car specials but with replica M Sport / RS / AMG wheels.

This would not only make the cars look better, but get the attention of less clued up buyers with catchy titles on AT / eBay ie

    ' 2012 BMW 320D Efficient Dynamics, blahblah, M SPORT ALLOY WHEELS! '

They turned them over week in, week out with shiny photos.

All of which has enabled them to move a level up with more lumpy stuff.

    Clever

very interesting thread, longest current car is a 14 plate  A4 Avant diesel auto at 103 days, thought it would fly out. I'm very strict with my stock normally, trading out when they get to 90 days, cant sit on a car forever. my cost to stock is around £35 per wk per car so I cant afford to sit on a car thinking its still making a profit after 6 months. I'm tight for space and physically cant get more cars on the pitch so every car needs to sell as quickly as possible, get the money back in the business. I could have sold 2 cars in the space that Avant has taken up

    Let me guess 75k + miles ?

Market is swamped with them, whatever the mileage. This stuff is very price sensitive.

  8. 1) Round the mile figures down to wholes numbers,

67,237 miles for instance makes adverts look ugly

    2) Photos are poor and inconsistent. They look like they are taken from one of three places.

    3) Stock profile inconsistent
