  1. They're good solid cars, 02 - 09 is the G4GC engine which is reliable. If you need any parts let me know I have a container full, although I don't normally touch the older gen 3 models, the later shape (SIII) sell well.
  2. Andy, does this work when done via eBay? I paid straight out of our business account via debit card, eBay apparently provide no protection for buyers or sellers when it comes to motor vehicles. It owes me £1K and is now sitting at my mates scrap yard with no passenger wheel and a smashed up passenger wing, bit annoyed to be honest and if I can get some cash back then that would be pretty awesome. Does anyone know where I would stand taking this "private" individual to court as obviously this situation could of been entirely different, I could of sold this car and it potentially killing the customer if the wheel was to fall off at high speeds.
  3. Meanwhile here is what happened to my recent Mini Cooper purchase, wheel studs snapped and the wheel fell off when turning a corner, luckily no one else was caught up in it. I had to use one of my own trucks to recover it as the AA was going to be 3 hours.
  4. Same here done 2 so far, I have 13 in stock sub £3000. Last month was OK not great at only 8.
  5. I also sent a copy of my insurance certificate through ages ago and no joy as of yet.
  6. Are you forgetting everyones favourite Grande Puntos which share the same head aches. The only cars I have wiring issues every time is Grande Punto's and Corsa's, absolute nightmare.
  7. Sold two so far, one more viewing at 4PM. I haven't been in though, I just open up when we have a viewing.. here's the car, where's the cash, cya later alligator!
  8. I just bought a 110K 2003 mini Cooper, pan roof in red on eBay, it looked like a proper tidy example and the lass said it needed 2 tyres and a set of wipers, unseen got my guy to go collect it 2 hrs 30 mins away from the middle of nowhere on isle of Anglesey. It turns up lacquer peel, windscreen crack, oil light on when idling, airbag light, N/S window sounds like it wants to work but doesn't, exhaust blow. None of this mentioned on the advert and the lieing b!tch couldn't give any less of a stuff. It owes me 750.
  9. If it turns out like this I will just walk away with my stock but I've known them for about a year (don't trust them but then again who can you trust in this trade).
  10. North West, near Warrington. Yeah I think it's a great opportunity, the previous trader has moved to a big warehouse on the road side and want someone to take it over who can sell their stock as well.
  11. This is why we are just taking this on as an additional site.. if it all goes pear shaped we can just bite the bullet and part ways with said trader / landlord. £250 per month for a 60 car pitch on a road side, a independent mechanic operates from the garage so it's only an outdoor pitch with a porta cabin.
  12. In a nut shell we want to use someone else's part exchanges / run of the mill stock to fill up our forecourt, as you said what we sell we will purchase as any other, anything that doesn't sell and clearly won't sell we will hand back. One of the reasons is that we don't have the finances to buy an additional 30 / 40 cars to fill the pitch up so SOR is ideal. Thanks for your opinions guys.
  13. Good afternoon guys I'm wanting to hear your opinions on sale or return vehicles, we're taking on a new 60 car sales pitch and we usually only stock 10 - 15 cars. This pitch is very cheap and is being used as a second location as we are struggling with storage at the moment. Are sale or return vehicles for another trader generally good news or bad? Cheers
  14. If the letter was sent normal post, just ignore his letter, I would not even acknowledge it.. there's only one outcome to this, yep you guessed it.. you forking out money.
  15. Personally I would never start a business from home or have my home address public, there's way too many nutters out there. Each to their own though ofcourse.
  16. Yeah prep takes the piss sometimes.. I guess we need to accept that these cars we all buy from auction fetching top dollar are old turds and there's many reasons (broken parts) the previous owners decided to get rid.
  17. Seems to be OK, struggling to buy the stock if anything, my local AH is always busy and things going crazy, only bought one car yesterday.. I was hoping to walk away with 4 or 5.
  18. A lot of whining over a 3K motor, like BHM said for that sort of money customers cannot expect perfection and will be happy with a nice chunky discount for some minor cosmetic issues, if it rains on the day of viewing / sale then even better for you A lot of my stock has damage, scuffs and odd dents we sell cars within £1K - £3K and have no problems at all.
  19. Yeah tough cars them x types.. hopefully you will have better luck than I have in the past. Some cars do stick around, even the most seasoned dealers still struggle to get rid of sticky ones.
  20. Not a single sale last week, this week 3 sold, I stock 10 - 15 usually of £1000 - £3000 cars. Not bad I expected worse to be honest.
  21. We make a fair bit on warranty wise warranties, about £100 extra per sale as we operate using their 100% profit feature, it doubles the price on screen that customers see and we only pay half. They're also great on the customer service front.
  22. Totalcarcheck Mark, you're welcome
  23. Cars with black tape on the reg are direct from insurance and finance co's, all others are private / independent companies. You can call them and they confirm who is selling it. Just be aware that they often hide a lot of things.. a bit like BCA.
