Have done all reading 12.5 ohms Changed map sensor and no difference.. I'm thinking that the exhaust might be blocked as at low revs it's fine only when under load / high revs does it misfire. Ok I'll see what this brings and nope not had to jump it.

Ok so here's where we are up to. Compression test cyl 1 190 psi, cyl 2 195 psi, cyl 3 185 psi. Replaced spark plugs, all three coils, drained the tank and filled with fresh fuel, replaced vacuum control valve, checked connectors for any corrosion, checked ECU for corrosion, replaced injector rail. New codes are P0300 misfire cylinder 3 and P0303 Random misfire on multiple cylinders. That's what we thought as well.. we have sold 20 - 30 of these little tin can cars this year and no problems what so ever.

This is what I was thinking but my mechanic said he doesn't reckon it has.. going to drain it and put some fresh petrol in it would be nice to rule it out as it ran absolutely fine prior to this. EGR is a good shout, I'll get this done along with the potential that it might have just been missfuelled.

Not too fussed on what it takes, I've got a 10 plate crash damaged donor C1 here and can steal an engine or any electrical bits from it.. just looking for some pointers rather than playing parts darts.

It's a 2007, no air leaks although not smoked it yet! But no sign of any.

Evening all, I have one of these delightful things going out on Saturday. Started it up yesterday and it was smoking its t!ts off and misfiring, it now does not smoke but the misfire is still there and it seems to have a lack of power when the EML is illuminated. At first there was no EML and now there is an EML for P0106 Inlet manifold pressure sensor signal coherence, looks like it has already had a brand new coil and spark plugs (x3). Parts replaced so far by us: 3 coils, 3 spark plugs, Air filter, Vacuum control valve (solenoid), Injector rail. Head gasket isn't gone, I can see from viewing OBD data that there is a misfire on Cylinder 3 so we replaced the full fuel injector rail with a known working set, each injector is reading at 12.3 ohms. Has anyone else experienced this fault code before or do the symptoms sound similar?

Argue it all the way, people like this are absolute parasites and think they can pull a fast one because the law is on their side. No refund unless a full health check / mechanical inspection is done by an independent technician showing that there's no signs of missing parts and you have a programmed working key in hand.

Just give up while you've still got your cash, you obviously have no idea mate or have anybody around you who does so I wouldn't waste your time.. you may as well go and have a good weekend in Vegas with your £200K. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but this is the cold hard truth and as a thread earlier last week pointed out this is not a thriving industry and it's feast or famine, mostly famine.

Price hike with immediate effect on 28th Nov. In Preston they have both the old and new pricing sign up so I will take a picture on Monday and post it here for you guys to compare.

Yeah just tax it via DD mate.. don't bother changing the v5 over.. everyone has their own way of doing things though so I'm sure someone will chirp in saying that this is against the law as you're not registered as the keeper and it's a trade vehicle blah blah.

That sounds like polish heaven.. but not a profitable kind.

It's an old Mini.. She's had 4 Months usage and done 4K mileage near enough. Just stand your ground and say it's a used car she's had 4 Months usage and done a lot of miles, the fault obviously wasn't present at the time of sale, it's her vehicle and therefore her responsibility to fix the vehicle. If she starts sending letters and making it official just offer a 50% contribution. The best case scenario is it doesn't cost you a penny and the worst case is it will cost a couple hundred quid.

Nah PCV is knackered.. forces oil out of the inlet manifold, leaks oil everywhere.. It's like a fountain. Going to replace it while replacing the rocker cover gasket.

Have things got any better yet? Still quiet for us..

BCA is the go to for most traders but not much point bothering with auctions for 2 cars a month. You need to be doing 10 a month atleast to make auctions worthwhile as you may as well go and buy privately. I have 16 cars in stock currently and go auction once a week dependant on how busy we are.
