+1. Never had a problem, the drivers ALWAYS let you know what’s happening etc. They phoned me the other day & the lad seemed to think I was at fault. I’m not fussy about cars getting held up for a few days so what I’ve done is select a date a week in advance so it’s cheaper but on the notes added “THIS CAR IS AVAILABLE FOR COLLECTION NOW!!!”. Usually the cars have turned up before the date.
-
That’s assuming Nick does NOT have the latest certificate. Funnily enough the MOT station I usually use did that to a punter’s car - it was only when he got home & noticed the car make/model on his new MOT certificate that it came to light. The DVLA deleted it from the system.
-
Yes but the MOT makes it look like it’s been clocked, which although it won’t of been it still looks like it. IMO it needs re-MOTing to bring the mileage back in line.
-
I wouldn’t trust them to move my bin to the roadside in either a satisfactory way or on a given date.
-
You can talk all of the talk but at the end of the day it looks to of been clocked, was advertised as being clocked & was bought by Nick as being clocked. I’d re-MOT and point out the minor issue at viewings.

They’re absolute pricks.

I am totally and utterly camera ignorant (I use an iPhone8+) but I’ve got to say they are by far the best photos I’ve seen. I know it’s personal preference but I prefer outside photos rather than inside with horrible artificial light - some of these harsh LEDs nowadays are horrid. Anyhow what did interest me was your mention of a circular polarizer filter. What does it do & why do you feel it crucial for photographs specifically of cars?

I can’t work out who are worse, greedy scum punters or greedy bastard traders.

It’s an arseholes’ paradise from what I hear from everyone who’s tried it.

Yep, there’s no point trying to second guess this game.

Being a purveyor of older vehicles I still view these twin-motor wonders as an expensive, wasteful and potentially problematic way (imagine when a 10yr old one throws up the EML - arrgggghhhhh!!) of dealing with an alleged problem. Anyway apart from the half-hearted attempt that was Honda’s original Insight my next experience was a Prius taxi the other day. Admittedly I was absolutely pissed but I noticed 3 things; 1) The transition from electric to petrol was imperceptible apart from the pretty pictures on the dashboard. 2) Full bore, twin motor acceleration was pitiful. 3) Priuses must only be bought by non-car people who view cars as white goods, alongside fridge freezers etc. What an absolutely miserable way of motoring, I was glad to nurse my hangover the next day in a warbling T5 Volvo belting out decent horsepower. I’m sure we’ll get there (Tesla’s technology will filter down) but at the moment these ‘halfway houses’ of hybrids are an expensive distraction.

He can’t drive it there - no key To be fair to the seller he’s only asking scrap money so he’s certainly not being greedy.

Now here come the tales of everyone always working for £2K+ per car, having it off on every deal......but forgetting about their rent, rates, stocking loans, VAT, wages etc. etc. etc.
-
You can’t BUT that’s not the issue. HE has absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with the deal so in no way shape or form should you entertain him. End of.
-
Eh? You’ve sold a car to a woman & are now dealing with a man. Either they’ve had a quick sex change OR you’re pissing away your time dealing with someone who has absolutely nothing to do with this car deal. This chancer would get no more than a minute of my time, you might as well be dealing with me about the VW Polio as him because we both have the same involvement in this deal.
-
It wouldn’t make a blind bit of difference. Why you’d point it out to a customer is beyond me, this simply isn’t an issue.
-
+1 because you can’t do anything about it. At least you realise auction houses are never a buyer’s friend.

Not really but it helps. Plenty of businesses have investors who know little about their investment (think stock markets).
-
Perhaps they’ve been looking at Dealer Auction recently.

Well, apparently we’re well away from a recession........ Anyone else noticed the man in the street seems to be absolutely potless?
-
How’s about Prompt Fit? Or We’ll Do It When We Can Be Arsed Fit?
-
Sensible advice if you can be arsed sifting through the shitheads to find the few genuine sellers. He won’t give a f***. What these types are scared off is comeback from a rough customer when then car inevitably goes ‘pop’.
