Grant, 80k turnover is nothing, if you think you will easily exceed it you should register for VAT straight away.

Hi ASP, I have no intention to change my business ethos. I’m just going to keep trying to improve and simplify. -

Hi Grant, I'm in exactly the same position as you, but with more like 15 - 25 cars trading from home, logistics is a nightmare. The MOT center, mechanics garage and valeters I use are based on a small industrial estate 5 minutes from my home. I'm constantly back and forth.....anyway a unit came available right next to the garage with 3400ft including office space, I'm completing early in January, its £13000 a year with no rates. However, I'm paying nearly £900 a monthly VED car tax payments Its gonna make my life so much easier. -

Is there any chance........ Is it still available ??

Its rare I get issues, but when I do it all depends on how reasonable they are. When Billy buys a 10 year old car, everything that can go wrong is “weary tear” in my book. A PDI is essential to cover yourself, that’s why Mr Customer the Manufacturer only gave it a 3 year warranty from new, you are 7 years past that..... However, to be gentlemanly I’ll contribute the cost of a used part blah blah as a gesture of goodwill.

Grant, show a link and I’ll personally report him to HMRC and Trading Standards. These scumbags give us all a bad name and need to be stopped.

The types that buy crap, sell crap to those who buy crap. DYKWIM......

Stand yer ground Andy, keep us posted:)

I don't do business with the "last price" buyer. Mr Customer, if all you want when buying a car is cheap, go and buy yourself a cheap parachute.............
-
This is interesting, mine is 6659 within 5 miles, but only 8061 within 15 miles and 19471 within 50 miles.......

Every business is governed by the CRA, we are no different. Wear n tear isn't covered, its the buyers responsibility.
-
It depends on whether it fits into your margin, read between the lines to get an idea how much its going to cost to MOT, PDI, get delivered and the sell within 100 miles of you. I stick to cars I know will sell quickly, the thing is everyone is looking for them What car is it, which branch and the reg ???

Your thoughts on Cat N cars (previously cat D write off)
Arfur Dealy replied to AVI_8's topic in General Dealer Chat
I stay well away from CAT cars unless its an old banger, I don't like the type of buyers they attract. -
Yes, I buy stock from every branch via Manheim online, I tend to go for silver and they are usually accurately described. You just need to check those photos and read the report. You have to understand its a numbers game, you will occasionally get one which will cost you more in prep (had to do a DMF last week) on an Audi £1200, but that's the game A lot of the time they are far better than expectation and they arrive with a file full of history.
