I was told some guy on Bookface with a post office who goes under Road TaxTommy or something will tax anything for a £15 fee.( don’t do Bookface ) Good if you are buying Black Horse repos with no docs and not in the trade.

Ha Ha Casper, you will be right, the daughter was expecting a new one ! Most of us would have recognised that within 2 mins of meeting them. Its all part of the learning process for a newbie ,just another set back Daz,coping with set backs is a major part of the job.
-
Grant Shapps the DOT Minister was yesterday telling people it was safe to go back to the office. He first needs to get that message across to his own office the DVLA.
-
The deal as stated was a non starter Daz.If you were working on a pitch you could have been peddled.Next time if you get a teenage learner and mother recommend them to get a third party inspection first and keep the car on sale.Full refund and you will have dodged a bullet.

And I thought driving up and down the Uk through the night to various far flung auctions at short notice was hard ! Very interesting Marcus.
-
Selling to the Russians, you did well.In the 90’s the story was that the Russians were big at stealing top cars in Europe taking them home, changing their ID,getting issued with new docs then flogging them in different European countries.

The guy I know has been waiting for stuff from Feb.
-
So you wouldn’t like to have a 200 grand stock loan like a lot of the guys now.The thought gives me a headache but most traders have no alternative.
-
You could try sending an email to the DVLA Chief Exec . Julie.lennard@dvla.gov.uk I know someone who did and got a polite reply giving the email address of a colleague to sort it out.He was furloughed so gave the email for someone else who referred them to The Department of Transport.I doubt Grant Shapps will be interested.

Brilliant.Jags to Holland and Yanks back. There was a big Yank pitch near us early 70’s in Newcastle and late 60’s there was a guy from Warren St came up every week to buy Jags.He dressed like Arthur Daley and smoked cigars and just ignored me. Can we have more stories from the golden age please Marcus. The millenials won’t believe them.

Most law abiding, honest, educated and decent people reading that article will side with the complainant.I am sorry to say the way I read it,she could be pulling a scam. What are the chances that the complainant qualifies for a £60 per week Mobility Allowance .So instead of getting a free new Motability car and returning it after 3 years, by blaming the salesman this one could be hoping to end up owning the car after 3 years when it will be worth 5 grand.......Why do I automatically think like that,it must be the result of over 50 years in the job.
-
Thought so,you were masquerading as a private seller. In the distant past that was known as a ‘bowler hat deal ‘.Never tried it myself because the consequences if you got found out could be ending up in a wheelchair.
-
I didn’t think they bought from the trade.
-
No I don’t,but I do remember 820 Rovers, they were outstanding ‘ self destructors ‘.....Now the 827 how good were they.
-
Good profit in fixing them if you have the right staff.

Pendragon online with a BCA description ? Good luck.I would only buy Pendragon stuff if I could see it,listen to it and smell it and it would still be a risk.
-
That’s interesting because I know some of the ex police dealers who buy there and I cannot imagine them buying online.

Just been reading about JLR new futuristic signature site in Sunbury on Thames.Room fo 400 cars with Bodyshop upstairs and cinema wall feature. It must be costing millions and communicating with them will probably only be by email and text. I think Nick should send all his XF punters there for a free health check.....can you imagine.
-
Tata Motors the owners of JLR probably consider Sir Ralph as cost effective because he has been able to attract hundreds of millions in government aid.Unfortunateley they are now asking for another one billion and been turned down. His replacement will most likely also have good government connections and an even bigger pay package. It’s a bit like when Beckham at the end of his football career aged 37 signed a short contract with Paris SG,he hardly played a game but generated an extra 400,000 sales of club shirts.

Alternatively we are where we are because a lot of people are not respecting social distancing rules. When they reopened pubs and restaurants there has been an immediate Covid spike.( even in NZ which has been Covid free for 100 days ) I have some sympathy with Dave Horgan’s seat suppliers as it could be a small business and operated by older Covid high risk people who want to apply their own rules. However I do not see why places like DVLA or the Passport office should be shut down.
-
Good luck with that, it’s a static inspection. Please keep us informed.
-
That will be right, you are forced to pay for BCA Assured static inspections yet they want you to supply a video.I would send them a video of the tyres while putting them on notice that if they don’t meet your claim ,legal action in the Small Claims Court will follow. It works.
-
I think we had a case in early on line buying days when both of us with different log ins spotted a cheap car going through ( the way you do) and one was the underbidder while the other bought it....Just another cock up out of the many etc.

CDP: How to get set up selling Finance and Stocking Facilities
trade vet replied to david gott's topic in General Dealer Chat
Ha Ha ,How ‘ below the belt ‘ or even defamatory Mark to allege that Mr Horgan would want to acquire on chucky some Lambo shite for his personal use. -
It’s self assessment,if you find you have mistakenly under or overpaid VAT you have to notify them.Since buying VAT qualifying stock became the norm they must be used to giving refunds now. However I have lost count of the number of VAT inspections we have had yet not once has an inspector spotted any over payment. So around the millennium when I discovered that the MOT station we used for years had been billing us for oil and filter changes and MOT tests plus VAT,we tried to reclaim the VAT overpayment. There was thousands to claim back and we were passed around various VAT offices around the U.K. and after 3 years I gave up. I am sure Huggins will have better luck.
