If a private buyer buys it they pay the vat at the inclusive price with vat inc if a business buys it they pay the price + vat and claim back if the private buyer then sells it on is not vat registered they take the hit on the vat my local van guys uses it in a lot of his ad ex private owner so no vat so i would just advertise it inc vat then just state that vat registered buyers can claim back vat ,

So I don't have to sell business to business - provided the buyer is made aware of the VAT element of the sale / sales price?

I have turned my best profits this way. The secret of buying blind is to make sure the potential profit on the car will cover any eventuality, so if its a lemon, the worst that can happen is you don't make any money. So don't bid unless the potential margin is big. Doesn't happen often! It generally only works with older higher value grade 3 and 4 cars. Grade 1 and 2, everyone and their dog wants it and cheaper model grade 3/4 there is not enough margin for the risk to be worthwhile. In my experience almost every car over 9 years old is graded 3/4. Often, they turn out to be grade 2 at the worst. I find the opposite to be true with newer cars. Often a 4 year old grade 2 will need as much spending on it as a 10 year old grade 4

Had a girl this morning looking at a car for herself , she asks if there's any discount on the price . Just shown her the price marker at Great Price and said we have to price low to get that marker so the days of discounting have ended due to Autotraders interference ,Told her we used to put that car up for £5,695 last year and take £5,500 but now its priced at £5,495 to start with so its a "no" nowdays , She paid me screen price How it has to be I'm afraid isn't it . Everyone says they want transparency so its very transparent now . Screen Price "simples"

Older German cars are built to an engineering standard, Current German cars are built to an accountants price point

£15? I can see what you mean you are extremely generous, do you have the details of the garage that does the tracking for £15? Might start using them myself.

Maiden bid and hammer down ! You must have been panicking. Some clever dick in the hall may have tried a piss poor starting bid and the auctioneer was proving a point.
