They say never meet your favorite celerity... a meet up would shatter my complex visions of what people look like and i'm not sure i like the idea of that.... If @EPV doesn't actually look like Jim out of The Royal Family it would ruin this place for me !
Absolutely.
And in 5 years time you will lose half your sales to a bunch of 18 year olds who were born in the text world and will adapt far quicker.

Usually to the date it was put ‘in trade’.
You’ve knocked the nail on the head. Also I know Arnold Clark wouldn’t take a p/x if it’s not in a customer’s name. That’s good enough for me - the sort of punter who phones you as a private punter with a spurious name on the log book is normally some sort of plastic trader trying to offload their shite & can’t string together a coherent story.
Back dating is do-able , I've got rid twice to WBAC and once to Evans (who were spot on by the way ) , squeeky bum time while you're sat in the office and they scrutinize everything!
The one to Evans was a UK select funnily enough !
Interestingly (and I am not suggesting anything here) there is nothing to stop you from entering a much earlier date of ownership so you can have a trade car in stock 2 months then "sell it to yourself" online and put a date from months prior.
They only way WBAC might know anything is amiss is if the car came from one of their own BCA sales :-)
There isn't any legal disclaimer that will get you out of this, it's just numbers.
If I sell a £1000 car (and I sometimes do) I will NEVER CONSIDER spending £300 (a third of it's value) on a cambelt replacement just to ensure longevity. If the belt breaks shortly after that sale I will refund the customer in full and scrap what's left of the car.
I quite like the idea of beer and meeting up.. networking isn’t me though, being a bit of a maverick I’m not into corporate bs, I would go and sit at the back flicking bits of wet paper at the roof...
Result. Well done. (Yes, I must admit that at least 70% of purchases are from over 70’s, or from deceased people via their children-but I guess they’re the buyers of the local rag mostly.)
Thanks for the advice Dave....
Since my new payment process I've not had a no show / non payer in over 2 years, if it falls through, I'll eat my Halfords socket set on video for you
Diesel because they are now MUCH cheaper to buy, more reliable when used on long trips and will give you 50% more fuel economy. Oh, and their road tax is a fraction of the price compared to petrol (BMW 320D £20, Jaguar 2.0 petrol £240)
