What is the cost of these premises? Have you calculated how many cars a year you would need to sell in order to break even after all known expenses ? With no experience you will burn money very quickly, do not expect to rent a flash unit stick a load of cars in and start making money. What is wrong with starting small and building up gradually?

Invoice your son for £3150, might be a good idea to ask him to pay that money in your business account. Tradegirl: this basic math should’ve been known to you from day one. The purchase price of a used car is auction hammer price plus indemnity / buyers fee. This is the full price.

Been close to winning a couple of those recently, they do seem to command strong money, even in quiet auctions...

read this https://www.darlingtons.com/blog/rent-deposits-commercial-property i would expect to pay no more than 3 months but i guess its different the further south you go remember to get a solicitor to go through the lease before you sign and ideally set up a limited liability company in case you need to leave earlier than intended

Our lad chose a Kia too (Rio). Loves it. As do his friends. Had it two years now and isn’t interested in changing it. So true about the Aux input though.Kids nowadays are a different breed to our day. Just trying to get him to have a beer is a challenge. Also seems more interested in saving money than spending it and has little interest in girls or cars.

Sounds like he's getting the car for free - and a kia ceed will have aux in points etc which is all most of them are bothered about !

Lucas just do it and when you have worked your ass off for the first year and made zero profits or even took a big loss maybe then you will wake up from the fantasy you are living in. Then take it up the arse and realise it would have been easier and less painful

You are self employed, your money is your money, it’s a personal purchase. Simply invoice yourself as advised.

Lucas i used that emoji for the very reason you seem to be asking the same thing a million times over and ignoring the advice given. I don't mind running it for you...after all its your money and it seems like you want to throw it away so i dont mind having an attempt at running it...

^ What he said. But before diving it at the deep end, would it be a good idea to get a few sales under your belt to get a feel for what sells well for you?
