Good luck to them but £30m ! There has been some good ones that have previously failed with something similar.Tesco,Richard Branson and a few years ago some other non trade guys who raised millions to sell on line and then self destructed after 2 years of claiming how well they were doing.

I think his comments ' which suffers from poor satisfaction and convenience' are insulting to the motor trade, who on the whole do our best in a market full of variables. Mr Chesterman does not appear to have ever had to sell used cars, and have to deal with price led car buyers, whose unrealistic expectations generally lead them to look at the worst cars first, being sold by the worst types, before realising you generally get what you pay for. Lets hope its a success, but it will take a lot of convincing us car dealers to part with extra advertising money, having seen many of these ventures come and go over the years. I know what I wouldn't do with 30+ mill. Unfortunately...it is!

I think he might be on to something specialising in EV’s and Hybrids. It’s certainly the future, but is the future now or is it still orange? I don’t know, I think I’d rather have them than some German diesel auto junk -that’ll be 3k plus when the gearbox poops itself etc.. Will. E very interested to see how you go on Rovex ‘Will be’ even. Oh how I miss my Like and Edit buttons. :o(

It should be no different to buying anything else online EXCEPT sharks swim in our waters and cars are just about the most faulty, complicated consumer products in the world with 100’s of variables! Not to mention scratches or minor marks - you have to see the car... good luck!

Pistonheads & Car Gurus....About as good as Peugeot and Vauxhall me thinks! Here's this morning's blurb in full: Today it was announced that CarGurus, Inc. has agreed to buy the motoring website, PistonHeads, from Haymarket Media Group. The acquisition is another step in our plans to accelerate growth and expand our consumer audience in the UK. PistonHeads has built one of the UK’s most trusted and influential digital motoring brands, and we see it as a perfect fit with our own customer-centric model and pioneering ethos. We look forward to applying our technology expertise to unleash the full potential of the PistonHeads platform, while staying true to what makes the brand so special to millions of motoring enthusiasts and shoppers in the UK. You might wonder what that means for you, our customers. Make no mistake that CarGurus remains deeply committed to investing in our platform to keep dealers ahead of the curve. Aligning the CarGurus and PistonHeads brands enables us to accelerate our audience growth, and continue to innovate our transparent marketplace. For our UK dealers, this combination will help you connect with a larger audience of car buyers at an attractive ROI. Following completion of the acquisition, we intend to operate PistonHeads as an independent brand, maintaining the site’s popular community and content, while applying CarGurus’ technology to enhance the site experience for PistonHeads users. The acquisition is expected to close in early 2019, but I am thrilled to share this news with you today and look forward to sharing further updates as soon as I can. In the meantime, I encourage you to read our latest blog, or get in touch on the number below.

Them bloated old 90’s Supras, a sort of rice burning Trans-Am, seem to of gone the same way. A friend has or had one advertised, apparently they’re as fast as f*** but what about the embarrassment if someone you know sees you in one? Years ago, 7 or 8 at a guess, I bought a Honda S2000, yellow, a few miles but at the time they were barely worth a toss - they can’t of been otherwise it wouldn’t of came home with me. Horrible car, had to cane it to 6000rpm before anything happened. Anyway I had it absolutely months & couldn’t get a proper sniff on it. Plenty of email dickheads enquiring about tread depths, midnight email traders talking the talk & owners forum wankers making a nuisance of themselves. Eventually I sold it to a local bus driver I knew, for a hard bid “cash, no comebacks”. I now look at the price of them, even interstellar mileage ones make a few quid. Tbh I recently saw an old shitter on DA making more now than I sold it for almost a decade ago. P/Xs? The days of a decent p/x seem to be few & far between nowadays. They all seem to be f***ed, want the earth for them or even if we’re only a couple of hundred quid adrift they’re prepared to keep them & “Have a go on Gumtree” themselves - good luck Sir!

Remember many years ago after only just starting on my own having a little Civic up for £3195 which was all the money. Was quite happy to get £2995 for it. Had a chap come in with quite a late plate Frontera that he absolutely hated to drive. He asked would i take it in but i wasnt overly interested. So i asked the question what do you want for it. He said give me £200 and take the Frontera. I said ok and sold it a week later for £7995.

I can't get my head round the battery situation? I tried to value a Zoe a while back and there was TWO finance agreements on the car, one for the car and one for the battery! After speaking with the lady, she was rambling on about the battery not being included and that it was a lease battery. The whole thing just made my head hurt, and binned it!
