There are plenty of lurkers watching this right now gleaming info, there are also those who fleet in and out requesting help. There’s nothing wrong with that imo. The Trade forum would be used more if admin sorted out their applications. I’m happy for the public to see what I post here. If someone doesn’t like what I say they can simply jog on.

Yeah, they are good on service items, other parts TBH I find it depends on the exact part, and never ever VOR it, they reduce discount to a few measly % BTW do not fit pattern factor Air Filters to the new OM651 Diesels, I've had a few in recently with Fram and others fitted and they keep popping Airflow offset drift codes, seems thay are verrrrrrrry sensitive to their Airflow

It's a difficult one. On the whole I don't mind a test drive - especially with 40-60 in stock it helps keep 'em starting and cleans the discs off etc. but depends again on if I like them. You run the risk of alienating them if you refuse a demo, and sometimes 'today's looker' is tomorrow's buyer'. The ' the price is the price' question often deters the fool from a demo. I like this one. Will shamelessly steal that. ;-)

Not moaning at all mate, just an opinion. It’s not so much learning from other traders although that’s a big plus for someone like me, it's more stopping plastics and billys from siphoning off free info when they give nowt back. Anyway, it was a draw

Had a punter today, best price, last price, cash price....... Showed them the last mot failures for shocks, brakes etc plus my parts and labour bill to rectify this and just said we cannot do anything I'm afraid

jo public can find out off me quite plainly no its fixed, just today i was asked "cheaper" i drew his attention to the new discs and pads i had just told him about that were fitted and reminded him of my service, hes collecting it tommorow at full asking, if he had pushed i would have just told him sorry, we are not doing business today, the majority on here i am sure you will find do not discount. To make this sort of question "secret" on the other side would be crazy, and if basic questions like this did go "secret" then this section of the forum would be very quiet, and, i, would without doubt, be out .

In my experience the one's ''haggling'' on price on the phone are a waste of time. Get them infront of you. The best punters we get call and say "is such and such still available" "yes" "okay, can i come down at blah blah". Once they're infront of me and if they're nice/ realistic, I'd be more likely to discount.

Don’t waste your money, save the ££s. It’s a used vehicle. Don’t overprep.

Most customers have lost key insurance and never knew about it . Just tell them to tell insurance its lost and they get another without affecting No Claims . Does depend on the car here though , under four yrs they get two keys , over four it comes as is .

You’d think this a £500 knacker. £70 recon for a really clean car doesn’t sound much to me - you want to see some of my bills on the shite I sell.

It's a fantastic forum, however I feel it could do with a tweak. I think it would benefit from some sub forums being added and maybe restricting new users to starting new threads. That said, it's all buckshee so mustn't grumble.

But still got 120 views in a day? My very desirable fast sellers get 40-50. Your target customer is a Polish or Romanian national in his late 20s early 30s and unfortunately right now they have already made their annual pilgrimage back to the homeland (they look at your ad on their mobiles right now). When they return at the end of the month they will resume their search for a cheap prestige mile munching chariot to use on the next year's journey and your desirability will shoot right up :-) Fingers Crossed.
