Tool boxes

Recommended Posts

Looking at replacing an old facom tool box I've got roll cab top box kind of thing

just wondering what the guys with workshops on here recommend .

Snap on Mac tools etc . Probably got a 1500 pound budget give or take a few hundred so would probably get a decent used box for that

whats all your thoughts ..

MAC , my son swears by them , Built better than Snap On in his opinion .

But it did cost the same as a Large car though :o

Now we have three of the things :o.

I remember writing the cheques out

Thank you david i remember dave on here saying snap on wasn't as good quality as they used to be in fact a few of my mechanics friends boxes rusted away runners stopped working etc

another guy i know bought a second hand mac and never had any bother with it

i looked at halfords ones too and ones from uk garage equipment.com matco i think  they were  but feel its time to get something decent for my own bits and bobs

the facom one has been ok had it 16 years now but a few of the drawer locks etc dont work now dad bought me it in 2003

actually missed a cheap snap on subaru box guy I buy cars for sometimes upgraded his and sold it for £800 before i heard

just looked at the teng tool kits they have increased in value over the years remember visiting a show years ago and seeing one for under £1000 now there about £3500-£5500 im getting old lol

hope you and your family are well ..

I’ve got a teng one that I’ve had 9 years now and it’s still going strong. I just got a big roll cab thing off sgs engineering, I’m impressed with that too for £600
