tradegirl 112 Posted July 22, 2019 Hi everyone. Someone's asking to px a Transit Sport Day Van. ST seats, Rock and Roll leisure battery (whatever that is) Does anyone know how well these sell? Thanks.
Mark101 536 Posted July 22, 2019 Anything like a day van should do well IMO. Rock n Roll bed is a bench seat in the rear that unfolds to make a bed (like a Futon). Leisure battery is to run the domestic supply, make sure it has a separate starter battery.

NOACROSS 414 Posted July 22, 2019 Not that I have ever understood them like cars- but any van in PX seems to have done well over the years for me. No-doubt if I had a site full of them, they wouldn't prove so popular. (I wonder if van sellers sell the odd car well on the site when it comes in px. 'Cheapest car on the pitch scenario is another one.)
tradegirl 112 Posted July 22, 2019 Well he's asking to px on a £8700 car, with "a little money on top". I don't know what these are worth, but if it's going to tie up £7000 of capital, I'm a bit nervous.
NOACROSS 414 Posted July 22, 2019 I should think it's a good time of year for a day van?

It's me 615 Posted July 22, 2019 i know i shouldnt tell you how to do the job but someone who's trying to shove an old ransid in you with a futon thrown in and a leisure battery should be giving you all the signs that the deal is a bad one for you lets be honest if it was a proper day van you wouldn't be getting even a sniff

He's sent me the ad he was going to place on eBay, and to be honest I'm already put off. It looks to be the right time of year for selling one but its still a 8k van that's on 134k. I think im with you trade girl unless its a decent bit of money on top id say no
Casper 272 Posted July 22, 2019 I agree with JA although we know a 100k isn't a lot on a modern car or van it will put a lot of buyers off I also agree with you TG about your money in the two cars you know what to buy and your market in your area etc my advice would be to politely offer a low ball px on the van at a price you can afford to sit on it. remind the customer that camper vans are not really your market and you may have to sit on it for a while and its probably worth more private or on eBay etc Good luck whatever the outcome

David Horgan 564 Posted July 22, 2019 I would be on We buy any van , end of , far as I'm concerned . List like that at 134k for that money and I'm out . He's valuing the DAY VAN bit far to high , those types always think what they have is worth a fortune , , Camper van man near us says Transits don't sell that quick as day vans either . Trying VW money for a Ford I reckon . Expensive for a rock n roll bed But I know nothing about those things I must admit except "I wouldn't want one "
tradegirl 112 Posted July 22, 2019 Even if I wanted it, how would I price it up? As I understand, it's a Transit Custom DIY turned into a camper? So do I find prices off panel vans and add £ some on?

Though I helped a neighbour add extras to his factory camper . Though to try and help and give my advice ill give you my thoughts I guess what you could do it your price the basic van on Autotrader price up what it would cost to buy the parts to spec it out and then ad a bit on for the the work . Also have a look on eBay and gumtree etc there a few on there at minute I had a look earlier .. some nice stuff Edited July 22, 2019 by Casper
