BCA bank hol opening times?

Recommended Posts

Anyone know what time BCA are open on bank hol Monday? I know they’re open for payment and collections but not sure what time.

Got a car to collect but don’t want to turn up to early/late.

They’ve had sales on bank holidays as long as I’ve been in this game.

That’s great because I need stock.  In your experience, are they generally busier or quieter than the usual week day auctions?

Hoping for a few bargains :D

Years ago I’d of said you might nab one or two but tbh I find nowadays it makes little difference cos if they don’t get bids the auctioneers bounce bids off the walls. They might as well replace auctioneers with machines nowadays.

I don’t know with your type of stock but with mine I can hardly find any cars I really want anyway. Finding suitable stock seems desperate at the moment, or the stock offered is in desperate condition

And I suppose with Online bidding, there'll be plenty of dealers itching to get back to work (cyber bidding from home), whilst pacifying the family.

But isn’t it a shame we can’t bid through the app

At the moment it seems nearly every dealer works 7 days a week and goes to an auction on bank holiday with the idea that they’ll buy a load of cars at a steal because no one else will be there. The reality is it’s no different to a normal day and with an army of private there on a jolly things can often be worse, 9/10 I’ve gone I’ve wished I’d just stayed at home, turned off my phone cooked a nice meal or gone out and done something - sorry, it’s just what I see in this trade and it kind of depresses me!

Yep...... Bank Holiday sales have always happened, I don't attend but if a mate of mine goes along he spots for me and bids on my behalf.

This does annoy me but hey ho.

To be fair, like most people - I used to get caught up in auction fever and often bid over my limit.  Now I plan well ahead and set a maximum using a combination of retail back and various trade figures.  So, I am not worried that I will get carried away, just hoping that I might steel a few UPTO my maximum bid and have them all back and prepped by Friday ready for May start.

Just debating whether to go in person or bid online now.

20 years ago a bank holiday auction was fantastic especially if it was a night time auction

go to food emporium fill up with good grub

gloat at how few people there were there just us die hard traders

walk up the isles all poncified with proper steak pie

pick out the winners

bid and usually buy

go home to the pub

happy days

And that's the reason auction houses have been so keen on online bidding. Plus welcoming privates with open arms!
