Screenman 47 Posted May 2, 2018 I had this happen on red Montego, couple of blokes came over one the buyer and one his mechanic, the buyer says it is too clean and walks. The mechanic came back two hours later with cash and buys the car for himself and tells us his mate has just missed out on one of the nicest cars he has ever seen. Dan W 57 Posted May 2, 2018 my current favourite one was from yesterday, couple in their 60s looking at a 1.6 Suzuki 2wd vitara..... well I just need to go and check the insurance to see if that's not going to be expensive before I buy. Reply to them, Oh come on behave, the insurance isn't a factor here lets be honest.... what is really stopping you... answer well to be honest we are not at the stage of buying yet just wanted to look around. Twats.
BHM 994 Posted May 2, 2018 “I never buy the first no matter how good it is because everyone says not to buy the first one you see”. ”I need to speak to the wife”. ”I like it, I’ll phone you when I sell my car”. ”I’ll apply for a bank loan on Monday & get back to you if it’s approved”. ”I’ve got others to see” You surprise me, where are all these other low mileage, 15 year old, one owner from new BMW estates at £999 with a new MOT? ”I didn’t really want this big engine model, or the middle one for that matter. Really I want the bottom engine“ What? You seriously want the bottom engine? “Yes, for fuel economy”. This was two days ago looking at a Merc E320CDi - thankfully he told me before the testing so he was chased away without a test drive.
MattR 177 Posted May 2, 2018 ' I really wanted a black one' it wasn't black when you looked at the advert. it wasn't black when you got here. it wasn't black before the test drive. it still isn't black.
David Ayers 171 Posted May 2, 2018 I've even had after a test drive "I don't like the colour" and "It's too many miles" Obviously the 7 mile test drive tipped it over the edge!

AHHHHH. Indecisive punters are the worst. Sometimes I feel like people have nothing going on in their life so buying a car becomes an event, a journey, something to fill their time with. When that journey is going to come to an end so quickly (they found their ideal car first viewing) and the idea of going back to their mundane life of no purpose rears it's head they make silly excuses. I think we all probably see it alot?
