  1. Just use a templated word document with the t&c's in bold font
  2. You guys put me to shame. From recent memory i've had an 'Inbetweeners' Fiat, 15 year old Clio, rotten Ka and a beautiful but very very flawed proper Saab 900. If I have to go anywhere long distance it's the train and most holidays i'll just hire something. Much rather stick my disposable into a nice city break somewhere or interesting holiday destination. Didn't get into the game for the cars and living on the congested, pot holed south coast there's little enjoyment to be had in driving. Modern stuffs just not special enough IMO. Compare a 3* hotel to a 5*+ and there is a world of difference...maybe i'm just a holidays kinda guy. (Love the idea of a pagoda Merc, Jensen CV8 or 70's 911 in that nasty green just so you know i'm not totally anti car).
  3. I bought a highlighter. 99p fix to show the word PASS in green. Not a fan of the layout but it does make the advisories look less severe IMO...lots of jumbled up text on a white sheet instead of a list of pitted not weakened discs and gaiters preventing ingress of dirt works for me.
  4. Gods polish in my lingo...love a nice overcast damp day for a handover. This sun lately has been a pig for all the black stock; 'this is the worst it's ever going to look' has been my trotted out line to moaners lately. We're pretty flat on enquiries at the moment and sales have dropped off these last few days. I always moan and panic when it's like this every few months but it does feel very different this time, seems like absolutely nobody has a pound to their name this month and I don't see it improving anytime soon. Lots of people getting made redundant around here in my OH's sphere of architects, suppliers and even trades. Never a good sign.
  5. You don't want much for 3K do you! Jokes aside it looks tidy for that kind of leg. Do you guys do much with that kind of leg on it? I've only ever tried one bit above 120K and it wasn't worth the hassle but always wondered how people get on with them?
  6. Really busy May for us. It's been fits and starts though, sell loads one day and then see nobody for a couple of days, sell another load one day, see no one for the next few days etc. April was our worst ever month for sales and despite doing well so far this month it doesn't feel 'right' to me. Lots of time wasters, lots of people with either no money or no commitment about lately, more so than normal, and everything feels quite flat. Confidence/optimism isn't sky high at the moment that's for sure.
  7. Think I need to upgrade some of my stock....i'll have to apply for a waste license if not!
  8. Corsa's, Fiat 500 doors, Jeeps anywhere...but I agree, BMW and Merc stuff does seem to be shocking for a brittle/broken wire. I even get some punters on favouring French over German after bad experiences which shows how widespread the crap build must be.
  9. We don't bother with BCA or MAN, just stick to our locals. For me it seems that most stuff has gone back to sensible levels since mid April so maybe it's postcode based? It's very cyclical round here...everyone does their beans in Feb and March paying close to retail and then we hoover up once their money has run out in April & May.
  10. We sell the odd one or two a month off them. Lots of BS enquiries but always worth a reply because you never know. We don't pay to be on there so it must be a free package we're on.
  11. I ended up on three for the day but one did bring me close to a BHM'esque assault charge
  12. I said last time I wouldn't open up on the next bank holiday but decided to avoid the in laws... ...what a mistake to make! Two no shows so far, one wanting a LHD conversion thrown in for the asking price, some food for thoughts looking to buy end of July and a Nigerian offering me a good export deal....it's only midday.
  13. It's not comebacks, it's just the cost of recon that seems excessive on the smaller Kia/Hyundai stuff for us. Compared to the average Corsa, Ka, 500 etc they love to eat through parts more than most
  14. We only get stuff that's just outside of the warranty period and find them bloody expensive for suspension components etc. Stocking 58-61 plates and most i10, i20 and i30 stuff is falling apart by then from a trim perspective. Can't fault them for engines and boxes but the rest of the car looks like it's designed to just about see out the warranty and then collapse, just in time for Mr Customer to be brought back in for another one!
  15. Guess it depends where you are. We're near Brighton so it's £45 a wheel, fiver a pint and I won't even begin to talk about my council tax bill.
  16. £45 a corner for us too. Doesn't mater who you ask round here, everyone's £45.
  17. Always wondered, thanks! I'm not into this VW world kind've thing but the build looks cracking
  18. Nice job MrC. Quick question; when the bed is folded out do they need a mattress topper because the seatbelts and ribbed seat backs must be a bit uncomfortable or am I missing something?
  19. Looks nice and clean inside and well priced. Photographs in a public car park are a big no no for me and also the speedo image has lights showing (shut the bonnet and release the handbrake),
  20. DO IT! The funniest thing is when you click on their profile and find that like 99% of Facebook junk motors they either work as a scrap man, MOT tester somewhere or live for banger racing....usually the latter.
  21. Can't you just keep going with it at the right money and wait for the right buyer? Change the pics, re valet, put out all the stops etc? Cooper S is a thing you need a lump in because something will go wrong with it
  22. Don't send them a message...write it in the comments!
  23. We do really well with an older (read cheaper) Mini but I have to say we have always struggled with the Cooper S ones we've taken in chop. Insurance and high fuel/tax costs seem to scare all our punters away. Not helped by the fact we don't really do anything prestige or fast usually.
  24. Nice to hear you're retailing it! We've done well with oddball stuff like this in the past, my only thing I have learnt is to really over prep it cosmetically and take the time to do a nice write up, it seems to make the difference. We've sold a few of those low floor wheelchair wagons but oddly never to anyone in a wheelchair. They've all been to Amazon style multi drop delivery women and one for a mini camper conversion. Anyone else find it the same?
  25. Just make sure you remember to trust nobody and have a stupidly massive wedge in them because you'll end up owning them when the gearbox goes pop no matter what a trader promises you. In my mind it's only worth doing if you're happy to have someone else sticking their oar in every five minutes telling you how to run your own business.
