  1. Bang on - Good and clear professional communication is all that this customer wants.
  2. Used to do it weekly without fail and was in work for 8am the next day. When I think back to getting started I put some proper hours into this business. Love online buying miss the auction hall free meals though
  3. With current gas prices a lot of them will be told to jog on.
  4. I would go for the Remap Simon. Drove one of them back late night from Auction Kinross to Cheshire and set my record journey time in of of those A6 3.0 BiTdi's . Perfect car for motorway blasts.
  5. Do a quick video walkround using iphone. Talk about the excellent MPG and how great it would be for weekends aways, kids bikes dogs its got it covered. Safe / Solid etc. Mention belts and cost saving with it just being done. Do same in advert description. A lot of passat estate buyers will be doing these sort of things so make it seem like this is 'the car for them' that really fits their lifestyle.
  6. Meanwhile back in 2018..... Just play the game.
  7. We have generally managed 5 star reviews just from being very firm but fair. Challenged a couple of really poor reviews in the past which got them removed and responded to the poor ones. There is a sub prime place down the road from us who have a load of fake reviews, american type names just not written by actual humans in the way normal people write stuff. It is what it is.
  8. Any of you checking your stats on nexus 2 and google analytics for your websites ?
  9. Find someone to do a cheapo Matt Black wrap on it. Paint Alloys black. Charge £500 more. Cut me in when you sell it in record breaking time.....
  10. Agree. Plus you never know it might be raining when someone comes to see it
  11. You may want to look up what FAP means to the youth of today To be fair you will get full price on most cars we genuinely discount very, very few these days.
  12. Easier to say what is covered - F.A
  13. Warrantywise are the worst company I have ever dealt with in this trade. But the flags and mugs are good.
  14. Tell him to send you a picture of all 4 tyres and you will have management look into it. When it proves that the tyres are legal explain how his 14 day finance cooling off period works. You are right he has to pay for it by other means. I would then insist you are satisfied the car is all good and refer to internal check/pdi, independent MOT and how customer satisfaction is number 1 priority. Invite him to return to have the car given 1 hour workshop time for a full check over and ensure he is happy ( won't take you up on it is my bet). Polite way of saying F.O. Had pretty much the same thing recently on a car we sold and he claimed tyres were bald and with no tread on, tyres were nearly new he was just a bit daft.
  15. Makes my autotrader bill seem cheap
  16. Spot on - Being friendly and polite upon collection is the way to be. Most of them are not here to be sold to and are actually just here to pick up the car they have already chosen. Still love selling properly though. Had to do a proper full on hard sell all the stops pulled out on someone who gave me 2 no's the other day and wanted to leave, loved it when he ended up buying you cant beat that feeling of turning customers around.
  17. I saw a trader who had been in the game years post something on a forum once along the lines of in this job you get paid to have your time wasted. Paid very well most of the time. After that he stopped carrying anger around and being annoyed by time waster types. I must say it struck a chord with me and I am probably the same now. Most who I qualify for a drive buy, somedays if its quiet I call it in the office and say this one will drive it and then vanish off never to be seen and tend to be right. Not the end of the world sometimes the brakes need a good clean off and the cars need a run.
  18. You need a good couplle if bodyshops to use. Unfortunately with bodyshops as you grow and start selling nicer cars or having more stock about you a lot of them will think you are raking it in and want to start taking the piss with charging for jobs or letting standards go. Its always worth spreading the work across a couple of places to keep them in check IMO. Never be too dependent on any one company in this job.
  19. Don't really discuss owners much to be fair. nor history. Irrespective of car, price point and type of vehicle I find nearly all buyers I deal with are simply only bothered about cosmetic condition, alloys not having a mark and the car not having any chips on the paint. Sporty stuff can have quite a few owners just due to it being a fickle market for the next best thing. I buy stuff with no history and take the punt 95% of the time I can turn something up for it. Like you say its never completely not been serviced it will have had it for first 3 years with main dealers generally which you can track down and something in between. We service everything anyway pre sale and offer warranty on cars with full history or no history to the same level so makes no odds.
  20. Why should he thats even worse. Customer bought a car armed with enough info to make the decision. Buys big petrol auto and now is not getting great mpg....no shit Not like you can trust VW group to be honest with their quoted figures either is it...
  21. It does - Just bang it in your own card machine and then withdraw as cash / bank transfer to pay for cars. Got to find ways to make stuff happen in this job not ways not to. He is right about overdrafts btw -plus its cheaper to borrow personally than as a business. Dead on 50 retail Cars sold for March. Best month yet been amazing particularly when you consider a couple of patches of bad weather. Lets see what April has to offer, best of luck to all.
  22. @andymc1973 you are the main man the eyes on the ground! Nicked that Q5
  23. I trawl the buy it now lists and some of my biggest profits come out of these, can spend a bit more time researching the current market prices less up against the clock so to speak. That profit on the Disco sport would be alright, I would probably take the rest of the day off if I made that
  24. I think have a look at the guys who are doing a good job ( Like Umesh) but rather than Mimic take inspiration from and try to come up with something even better. Some tosser has opened a new garage down the road from us and ripped off chunks of our website direct copy and paste and has mirrored social media stuff so much its like I have opened a second branch only become dyslexic and developed a stammer whilst speaking in my videos in the process
