  1. I set up our own and its saved us a fortune. Hardest parts finding staff. Set up costs are very low.
  2. For what its worth I don't believe for a second they are sending fake leads. Its just the free listings. If you actually go on the platform you can see it for yourself, so if you have a bit of an idiot who is logged into their site who can send contact with 2 clicks you will attract a bit of that. I guess they want to be sending us as many 'leads' as poss irrespective of quality. Like anything how many Autotrader / ebay / motors / Find and fund (joking no one actually contact us through there) /etc go to the trouble of actually typing their details in, typing an enquiry and then we never hear from them again. All I can say is we do alright from it.
  3. This. Should make that a number 1 rule on how to be a car dealer.
  4. Good work turning it quickly Nick. I don't think there is anything BS to selling a car that quickly we get some that fly in and out and some that sit here for ages. Sometimes someone is in market and looking you car drops into their search criteria and they act fast to buy it.
  5. I sell several a month off the platform and its actually lowest cost per sale. Getting better month on month. Premium listing pack.
  6. Go on the CG website. Look at the options on their site for when you wish to enquire about a dealers car. It has pre populated response you can pick. On the free package your stock is shown to customers but they don't know where you are based so you get a lot of leads but tends to drop off in terms of being useful contact.
  7. Do nothing and just continue to slag them off then.
  8. I used to spend forever returning cars to standard now we like to do a colour change here and there on alloys.
  9. Get of your own arse and do something then. Like them / dislike them, feel they can make a change or feel they offer absolutely nothing at least they gave it a go. I wouldn't have the time to be involved with that on top of my own business so fair play to them hearts are all in the right places and all involved are in my opinion decent, honest and fair people who would help anyone. They are just passionate about the future of the motor trade.
  10. Ill test it as always end in a 95 here. Probably next week. Remind me if I haven't.
  11. I got paid out on tyres for full invoice without a fight recently pretty much identical scenario to be fair Nick. I found it better than surecheck.
  12. I like that post - As long as there is profit in it I will sell it. I don't get any happier looking at nice cars on the pitch I do get happier taking big chunks of profit out of cars.
  13. +1 could never do it when starting out its hard enough now we have started buying new stuff with manufacturer warranty still get the odd bad one. You learn a lot when at the auctions in person and spot cars you just don't notice online too.
  14. Sold at a local auction in the end for more than I had it advertised for The brutal video was too brutal.
  15. Whenever I have a car that is the cheapest like a trade out car I get nothing but utter idiots on the phone who have not read the advert, watched the video and don't even seem to be able to work out where abouts we are located. Makes me wonder how they survive in life.
  16. Your website is really nice looking good work. Best of luck to you. Nothing wrong with wearing shorts etc better than shiny suits and pointy shoes. I am always very casual and think it makes buyers feel relaxed. Its going to cost you big time to get a facebook following now its not easy or cheap and for the returns personally I think you are better off just focusing on the proven sites like autotrader and extracting the most from them.
  17. Buy now cars have been through sales and not sold for a reason usually. Can occasionally trawl them and cherry pick the odd good car but rare, requires a lot of leg work and if I do and buy a bad one I have only myself to blame.
  18. Most warranties won't pay out in first 30 days ( not much better after 30 days either tbf). First 30 days in the critical time for robust complaint resolution. Get a company to do the admin side of things, pay the money into your own pot and then use that to pay when stuff goes wrong. £50.00 / £100 per car. If you prep right you will be quids in. If you don't prep right warranty will be the least of your problems.
  19. Opening our own workshop and more recently doing our own smart repairs / paint / alloy refurbs. Transformed the speed for having cars on sale.
  20. I think in this job we can make a lot of money by working smart and working to our strengths. Can make far more money in buying and selling than I can spending time fixing cars or cleaning them.
  21. Nick - How do you de chrome paint or wrap? Whats the cost if you don't mind me asking.
  22. I think forced and violent entry you are covered if keys are taken from a secured and approved safe/storage item.
  23. i like opening on a Sunday everyone is a bit more laid back I find. Boosts our sales figures massively min 10 extra car's sold over a month. It also works out as a good day to catch up on videos in between customers or on the quieter Sundays, always something to do.
  24. As frustrating as it is who cares. Some lad opened up down the road from us. Word for word copies my social media posts, adverts even videos saying the same thing. Only problem is he is incredibly thick and in trying to copy comes across unnaturally and forced. Won't be prepared to put the hours in we do therefore no real credible threat, although it did annoy me when it looked like I had opened a second branch
  25. PDI internally and independent MOT on everything. We then do advisory jobs to. Prep our cars properly hence lots of good feedback. Fact of the matter is this works 99% of the time but if you get a screamer and that screamer is on finance it does not matter what you have done you are having the car back.
