  1. Has anyone claimed on corrosion warranty on a Skoda? I have a 2012 Yeti, (stupid name but a good car) full dealer history original car never painted but doors are rotting, blisters on all 4 doors mainly at bottom on edges, question is do I try to claim under warranty if I do is it best to come clean and do it as a dealer or play the private? Or is it going to be a long drawn out affair if so I will bite the bullet and have it painted myself.
  2. see my post last Thursday in private members lounge re cloned car, is identical thing,,,
  3. That is true in todays blame culture, but if someone has spent big bucks with you (£10000) and feels clutch is slipping after a matter of days is it fair to bill them over £650 and expect them to roll over? I try my best to keep the punter sweet and although we don't know the full story I do have experience of being fobbed off by a kid in a suit at a main dealers and I know how pissed off I was when it happened.
  4. I think Umesh hit the nail on the head, keep the punters happy and you will be fine, piss them off and they will find any excuse to hurt you.
  5. I wouldn't be mentioning any mods at all,, if the customer asks then fair enough but don't get them thinking bout mods,,, automatically starts them thinking of spotty boy racer sticking a drain pipe on after he has cut cat off and racing along Blackpool prom,,, init bruv.
  6. got my acknowledgement letter back off them this week. I sent my "cheque" (who uses cheques) off early December, funnily enough it still hasnt been cashed!!!!!
  7. Think anybody that would not agree with Autotrader bullshit was banned, proper dictatorship....
  8. Ooooh do u think Bethany will come on here?? I have really missed her bullshit replies since they banned me from there
  9. your stock profile mirrors mine and like you I am on every internet site except autotrader, and yes its funny how they still say they saw it on autotrader, I carry up to 60 cars main road well established showroom, lots of repeat and passing trade but mainly internet and as you say its google searches that people seem start with, and like yourself it is a click dealer website.
  10. I stopped using them because of their continuing schemes to extort money out of the trade and sponsored adverts is one of those schemes, I have just done my year end advertising stats and I am only 3 car sales down from the last year that I was with them, it just shows that people will look on more than site, nice to think how much i have saved to sell 3 less cars ;-)))
  11. Card payment for deposit up to max £500 then balance by fund transfer.
  12. I would be getting it back and repairing it, think if it got nasty it could cost more and sure you could get it repaired cheaper than a private, I know if I bought something retail I wouldn't expect to have big bills 2 week later. Take the pill and move on.
  13. I wish to fcuk I was 20 with £15k to spend,,,, the world is your oyster, don't get saddled with debt n commitments just yet,,, blow the lot on 2 years worth of travelling, see the world while you can cus when you are 25 with kids mortgage commitments etc you will wish you had then,
  14. If the car is something I have bought in and made it retail ready why toss it off?? I would only go out and buy it again, as long as it is priced sensibly and prepped well I wait till I find the right man for it. If it is an undesirable px or does not fit my stock profile then I just get the best trade bid I can and it doesn't get retailed.

  16. As a quick survey go on AT and search within 5 miles and see how many cars are for sale...... I got 6445.....
  17. You want to move to London AND have an Autotrader package..... I thought my wife had expensive tastes and knew how to waste money
  18. How do you end up with a £1000000 in this job? Start with £2000000,,,,,, seriously though why do you want t sell cars to be the cheapest around? that is just a race to the bottom and also fcuks the job for the rest of us because it sets a benchmark, personally I ignore the cheap bargains as I expect there to be something wrong with it,,, am sure I am nicking this quote off a previous poster off this site................would you buy the cheapest parachute you could find?
  19. If the govt was involved it would never be monitored properly, near us any spare land is turned into a car pitch, no planning permission etc but ring council and tell them and nothing happens. They took a fee off us to register as a number plate supplier so they could stop plates being cloned but once we paid that was it, never heard of any prosecutions for dodgy number plate suppliers.
  20. I want to start doing brain surgery, I heard they earn good money and I liked playing operation game as a kid....
  21. I think future benefits will become apparent in time and I take my hat off to the people who have given their time to help the trade, Its a shame that there has been a lot of negativity on this forum about it, It is a new venture and may have a few problems getting off the ground and keeping all the doubters happy but if it is run as a proper and trustworthy organisation it should help give all honest independent dealers a bit more credibility, a few of you may call the so called magnificent 7 for not answering all questions straight away, I personally would have told a lot of the nit pickers to fcuk right off because I am sure they are also busy trying to earn a living so respect to them for biting the tongue, as a new venture I personally would not have paid to join as it is an unknown quantity but I have joined now that its free and if it is a success then I wouldn't mind paying in the future, I hope more dealers and suppliers get behind the IMDA and make a success of it, teething troubles can be ironed out with the support of honest dealers, stop acting like opposing political parties and join together and help each other, you never know you may benefit from it.
  22. I may be wrong but I think Motorway services charge 17p per kwh and a £3 connection fee, I pulled onto M6 services today and out of 10 charging points 10 were not being used,,, reminds me of video 2000 and betamax.....
  23. This guys a tryer, Pity he is a year too late.
