  1. Thanks for all the advise, after looking around at the cost of conversions etc I have decided to retail it, at the end of the day if they don’t need the wheelchair it is still a mint low mileage top spec 7 seater, and anyone with an electric scooter could even use it with the hoist, sure there is good mark up for not big lay out.. thanks again for all comments ;-))
  2. Anybody have any dealings with adapted vehicles? We have ended up with a Grand Espace, mint low miles diesel auto nav etc,, it has been adapted but not the usual ramp/winch, the passenger seat swivels out electrically and drops down, in boot is a hoist and a big fcuk off electric wheelchair base that you put in front of passenger seat and seat slides onto it, it looks the dogs bollox and a real piece of engineering and must have cost a fortune but I don’t know wether to retail it or move it into trade... any suggestions??
  3. Only do it if it’s something I would be happy to stock if/when the customer drops his bolloxs and stops answering his phone when I have bought a car for him...
  4. Originally two tone but back in the day I did two tone a few of the them..... schultz half way up door ;-))))
  5. Why would you have to pay import tax? Surely all duties would have been paid when it was registered new here they can’t have it twice...... or can they??
  6. If it was previously uk registered it won’t be a hassle to re register here and far easier to sell RHD here and should bring more money than over there. It’s same as selling LHD over here you are ruling out 99% of buyers
  7. try another Merc dealer, its usually a digital service book so just ask them to confirm when merc has seen it etc, I found my local dealer to be very accommodating but I guess if you get a growler on reception who hasn't had her weekly hump she may be unfriendly....
  8. Had a similar thing few years ago, drive off at gunpoint on a test drive, I would say anything up to 3 or 4 grand take it on the chin and don't claim but above that you got to claim but I would be asking broker to give his advise on potential loss of no claims etc, also hold fire for a while it may just turn up.
  9. my thoughts exactly, but you never know they move step up a gear.
  10. We pay £450 and have 55 cars on at the moment, its meant to be a top package similar to AT sponsored listings,,, it does pay to be on there but if they try to hike price i will be off, there are so many advertising sites at the moment and i am of the opinion that punters just do a google search and its whatever few sites pop up first that they scan, i am no longer afraid to cancel anything thats not pulling its weight and try another, remember its us that pays their wages. Just had an e mail this morning from our website provider offering deals with Shpock, i thought Shpock was on the star ship enterprise but nope they are the next big thing,,,, thought that was find and fund but i cancelled them.... Onwards and upwards....
  11. In this “internet age” any monkey can sell a car, that’s the easy bit, the car is usually sold before the buyer actually sees a salesman, the hard work has already been done, buying right stock with right spec pedigree etc, prepping it right and advertising in the right places without giving all your margin away is the hard bit. Then after it’s sold wiping ass n not murdering punters is the next phase
  12. Had one yesterday travelled over 100 miles to look at a car, test drove it spent ages looking through books and history, valued his px etc then he says " I don't like colour so will leave it" I said why waste your day coming all this way its same colour as in pics, he said oh I had nothing else on,,, I said well I fecking did....
  13. Imagine working in a women’s clothes shop, u stack everything nicely then chav chicks come in mess your display up try everything on take it home for a night out then return it next day....
  14. more than likely,........... see you should have been a brain surgeon on the side,,,, they couldn't have taken your brain,,,,,,,,,
  15. pay up front and I will guarantee results.... onest bruv we is the best surgeons around
  16. I read that brain surgeons earn good money, I have some knives (and forks) a white coat and I have been on brain surgeons r us forums, my mum says I can use her spare room so happy days,,,,, anyone need any cheap brain surgery???
  17. Do a full HPI check, yes its more expensive but not as expensive as paying for the car twice, then ring the finance company to see if they still have an interest in the car, its normal for a car to show on HPI even if it has been settled, if it has been settled its a hard lesson learnt easy, if it hasn't been settled its a hard lesson and a welcome to this lovely trade that people think is a licence to print money without any overheads.....
  18. Why not get the car in, reset the obc and potter off down m-way at 56mph for a few miles get it back up to 36mpg then tell him it must be him that’s driving like a t@@t .... but I think normal town driving in a dsg Petrol low to mid 20,s should be expected, if he wanted economy he should have bought a diesel.... then moan about dpf light being on cus he never goes on mway...
  19. The f&f concept is one that I still think will work, it is slightly one sided ie we pay to advertise their business as well as our cars, but something needed to be done to stop the likes of Zuto Cf247 etc paying AT instead of paying us commission... I do however think it has been rolled out wrong, when AT first launched online it was as good as free until it was established, f&f have jumped straight in and charged the same as motors.co.uk and e-bay who are well established and proven to get results, they should have made it free and subsidised it from reduced commissions on sales until it reached a point where it could hold its own. I have been on it 3 months and have unfortunately not sold a wheel so as they say on dragons den I AM OUT ;((
  20. I bet his e-bay offers are better than mine
  21. Lesson number 1 if buying from the public check double check and check again, they are all out to swindle you, sell you a pile of pooh faults and all and say you are fair game because you are a professional. At least if you buy of the trade you have more chance of being treated with a little respect by fellow professionals.
  22. AT will do nothing other than come up with more ways to relieve you of your money, they don’t care if a small percentage of dealers leave it’s a drop in the ocean to them, years ago I questioned why a private could advertise at a lot less than trade could..... same bullshit answer as normal and nothing changes.... if you want them to dictate your profit margins and how to run your business keep paying but if you want to take control yourself ditch them, whatever you decide it won’t influence them.
