  5. This is a trade secret passed down over hundreds of years Please do not ask again as we would be breaking the code of the car dealers association to give you such information
  6. Really I cant find where it says that I'm guessing if you follow the link they put up at the top it follows government guidelines on what you need to do if you must buy a car at this time Now let me think on my shopping list Buy sunday paper Get 4 points of milk Get a loaf of bread Tin of cat food Buy car Think that basically covers it Back in an hour dear
  7. Follow the dealer at manchester he seems to own most of them
  8. I'm actually amazed how many businesses in my area haven't claimed the £10,000 grant. I've helped one to get his and unfortunately another friends daughter has fallen through the crack of leaving a 5 year lease when the new rent was increased by 100% she took up a new lease with a better landlord too late to be able to claim
  9. Absolutely I've tried on another thread to explain one part of this business, independent mot stations, the kind of businesses that are the backbone of this country yet all I got was grief for giving straight facts When the shit his the fan properly which I envisage is next year early when some normality might have returned it's going to be one hell of a wake up call Me I've done everything in my power to be ready to open but really dont envisage much business once everyone has been, had a moan, told me their life story ,kicked a few tyres and gone off to have a word with their wives As simply red said money will be too tight to mention and worse getting decent credit will be harder to find than a crack pipe, seeing as all the vape shops went bust
  10. I think it's more the case this company were asking too much Why would you charter a plane and fill every seat with ppe if you could go to blaydon and get it
  11. Haven't been to an auction proper since 1998 so your breath is wasted I saw you there by the way in 1997 So you've answered my question Ps I hope dot didn't personally give you your bacon sandwich, bless her soul she was the best
  12. Absolutely correct I always say why buy work I have done the buy the stock mug it away only to buy the same stuff 3 weeks later Sit tight if you can Words
  13. A trade buyer is not an end seller I'm an not interested you started in 1982 that's yesterday If you cant understand how this extension works then please continue being the small guy under the rostrum who thinks he owns the place
  14. Again I'm lost for words It's a real small minority of customers usually older than me and I appear to be the oldest that cling to the idea they want it safe I think you must sell new cars and have pointy shoes
  15. I'm sorry are you reading from a script Dont confuse service packs with mots.... Im lost for words......
  16. That's unbelievable I cant think of one customer including myself that is going to not use the full 18 month mot I keep my vehicles 100% I do walk rounds on the transporters before they go out why would you go for an early mot
  17. Do I have to explain to you eu block exemption? If you are in retail you will know that getting customers to sign in to packages of service and mot is the way to keep them in the dealer network Explain your point please
  18. You dont buy that to go to sainsbobs You buy it to burn rubber round arrods Or you buy it as an investment So the market at the moment for it is nick it or leave it
  19. Study your autotrader I say for within so many miles of your home It's an interesting picture All the traders near me who shouldn't be doing this job have cars now that shows as low price, I believe they are on stocking loans and I seriously hope they blow
  20. So Can you tell me what the manufacturers do these days to keep the customers coming back Let's start with how many manufacturers only offer a 3 year warranty Next point your month is my 5 weeks so far,I know car salesmen get a bad press but come on I shall leave it there but look forward to the discussion on something that in the short term is not even my problem I dont get your point to be fair I explained that the factors trade is down 50% this is obviously unsustainable, you mention euro I only use them for sundries, I buy safety components from another factor Regards opening up,I have had not one customer phone me regarding an mot or service, not one,I do not expect when I pull the shutter up I will have anyone there asking me to look at their babies In regard garden centres,I've spent an absolute fortune on seeds this last 3 weeks and most seedlings are showing green shoots as suits like to say,I actually went out 2 hours ago and sprinkled slug pellets all round them(you cannot buy these now as the eu banned them so I bought 5 years supply last year) I'm gutted garden centres are shut as they do a great service to time short people like us who like to sit in our gardens rubbing our holborn and smelling the sweet peas come July
  21. Factors business is down 50% Please read the article I proffered rather than speed scanning it .......geees I haven't bought anything in 5 weeks X that by many businesses like mine that are shut that run their own workshops apurely to support the car sales and with customer repairs as a nice add on if we have previously sold it
  22. I'm obviously not getting my point through Please read this link http://www.catmag.co.uk/extended-mot-will-have-catastrophic-effect-say-trade-bodies
  23. What? Are you in this job? Most people wont spend a penny on their car unless it becomes an issue for them, they will even be happy to hear a squeak or a bang if the car still drives, you Jack the car up and a road spring is about to impale a tyre wall My mot garage has been in business doing mots since the 60,s it is properly run and employes 3 , plus one from college trainee Pray tell where their revenue stream is going to come from in the 3 months next year I've outlined, let's assume I'm still in business and the other 2 traders who use them are too,we dont give them any work we just pay trade price on quantity for our mots They depend on mot testing to pay their Bill's the ramps get most of their work from failure s This garage is as straight as they come Customers being appreciative does not pay Bill's Sometimes I despair on here
  24. Hi tango I have 2 personal cars sorned strangely they both run out of mot in this month of may The wifes car also needs an mot this month They are all getting extended by 6 months so will need a new mot in November Theres basically very few mot garages open and even less mot 's being carried out now and for the last 5 weeks and until sometime in June at the current trend So Cast yourself forward to march april may next year, what mot work are these garages going to get other than distress work? Thank you
