  1. /\ /\ /\ LIKE LOL, yeah I've had witchcraft window syndrome Funnily enough, having owned a few, I actually think the later Post Facelift W203, the 220CDI is absolutely excellent value for money Car, proviced it has been properly looked after!! I bought a mint one in limp mode to sell 3 years ago, (Turbo Actuator fault), paid buttons, fixed it for pence, and when Mel and I drove it we just had to keep it, it's "Her" Car now, and even I love it OK, it's not a patch on my 06 W220 S55K, nor a patch on our new AMG line Diesel E Class, but it is a very good little car The E Class, as well as my workshop Van (Pug Expert) are my Daily Drivers, the S Class is my "Baby" a project car, started as a resurrection, which is now getting a lot of very expensive and subtle mods, gets used once a week for "special occasions" and trips to Nurburgring, Le Mans etc. I hope to get it over 200mph at The Ring next year, hit well over 190 last year, that's where I met my very helpful MB Factory Contacts who took me on a tour round the Factory and AMG Development Workshops.................. I met them when we started talking, they were asking lots of questions and looking over my W220, which wasn't looking it's best then as it needed some Paintwork, but was fully sorted Mechanically and Electronically by then
  2. A catastrophic Engine failure = Car cannot be used, 1000 miles in 3 - 4 months, any Judge, if it went that far would rule in the billy's favour. I know it grates, and I know it's a bummer, but like Nick said, that mileage it was a ticking time bomb I'd get it straight back, price it up and either refund the Billy if they're aggro, or repair it for them if they're OK folks and ok with a repair. I would minimise the damage to my wallet, get it back before Main Dealers or Engine Rebuilders etc etc start getting involved and seeing a tidy profit. Surely you must have decent mechanic you can use, whole job can be done reasonably with the right contacts
  3. /\ /\ /\ +1 Cranking, especially on a cold start draws far more current than anything else, so as soon as that Engine starts cranking, an old Batterys Voltage will drop significantly and modern modules will flag all sorts of Codes related to Low Voltage, on comes the Xmas Tree Lights First started seeing this in circa 2000 MB's, Start Engine, Transmission is in limp mode, new Battery and Reset TCU job done, try explaining that to Billy Bunter more so back then ..................... "There's nothing wrong with the battery, it always starts" was always their response !! I would reply, "OK pay me £1500 to rebuild the Transmission then if it makes you feel any better"
  4. Hi Nick, I have 2 SDS with DAS / Xentry, my original 2014 s/w with C3 Multiplexer, and also 12 / 2017 with C4 Multiplexer ................. Yeah I can do it but right now my problem is my 4 MB's are either newer (2017) or older 06 & 07 s I do have a few customers with 2011, one is coming in this week, a C Class Wagon, I'll see if it has Becker slot in it, if so I'll get back to you Surely you must have a good MB Indie who can do it near you ?
  5. /\ /\ /\ like Being as anal as I am, all leads multiplexers etc are in "Manufacturer Specific Boxes" in the Trays and Drawers below. Each laptop has BMW, AUDI VW, etc Manufacturers Logo stickers or badges on their lids, Screen saver says "Mercedes - Benz and desktops are pictures of some of the nicer Car Models from the particular manufacturer ...................... Yeah Yeah I know, very OTT but I am proud of my small business . Lappys are all kept on shelf racking, in my "office area", German Shelf, French Shelf, UK Shelf, Asian Shelf etc plus top shelf is 4 Generic Machines, old MT2500 Snap On with all Makes leads and keys, including Asian and USA set, then Snap On Solus Ultra Pro, up to date, Delphi, and now as I won't be updating Snap On any more, (it aint as good as they say), so I just bought top of the range Autel Pro. All machines on the Racking are kept plugged in on charge
  6. LMAO ....................... You can't polish a turd ......................... Translated, you won't get a fucked battery to take a full charge. Battery is wanked, change it, replacement AGMs can be had from around £130 up depending on size.
  7. Forscan is good yes, I would have used it, but it is a bit of a faff setting it up on a laptop and configuring like most Dealer Level Kit, in my early days I did some of them, like my BMW ISTA INPA etc etc, but these days due to being so busy I tend to just buy a Plug and Play system from the likes of Tony at OBD Store. 99% of my "Dealer Level" arsenal is now all on dedicated Dell D630's / 830's ...................... I like the Dells, I bough a job lot of 50 waaaay back off EBay and have millions of bits for them. I use a Rollcart with Dell Docking Station, big monitor and a printer.................. Simply wheel it to the Car, hot dock the required Laptop (Renault, Pug Cit, Ford, Jag / Landrover, Mercedes, BMW, VAG etc etc etc) and away I go
  8. OK, so sounds like the labour cost is very high, but that is really your problem not the Breakers. Their problem is they have £1600 and have not supplied you an Engine that is fit for purpose. Your problem is they are a Cowboy Outfit, probably Pikey types, and they are gonna fuck you around until the 12th of never .................... 20 years ago you could have hired a couple of loonies from the local pub to go and get your money back, and do unspeakable things, these days most of the "good" ones are either retired or banged up £1600 is a sort of borderline figure, probably not worth trying to recover 100% legally, but also why should leggitt and scarper get away with your hard earned !! Do you know any "Good ole Boyz" who might be able to recover the money for you, (please don't actually answer that on here ) !! Perhaps said "Good ole Boyz" might accidentally worry them a little bit, until the cough up, for a percentage of recovered basis That's what I would do if in your shoes, find a "Debt Collector", but not one from Yellow Pages / Google tho Well actually that isn't what I'd do, I'd be round there myself, on the odd occasion in the past I have been known to be very persuasive, without actually causing any major damage but that is a skill I learned through growing up in SE Lundun I do know that that isn't everyones cup of tea Sadly it has to be said though, that sometimes it is the only method that works with these Cowboy outfits At the end of the day, it is your money / your choice
  9. +1 , well actually as it's a Ford, just plug it into IDS and see what is / isn't fucked Snap On / OBD doesn't see all
  10. 26th is Nail Skirt Day, I'm DJ'ing a Halloween Party at a local Village Hall
  11. OK, OK, so for those youngsters among you, who need google ........................ "Hey Santa Claus you cunt, where's me fuckin' bike, I've unwrapped all this other junk and there's nothin' here I like" ............................................................................................................................................................................................................................................. ............................................................................................................................................................................................................................................. "he's just a piss tank and a pervert boys and girls" ....................... Or hows about .................... "Hey what times fuckin' smoko, what time do we knock off, where's me 6 cold cans of piss" etc etc etc .......................... Good days for sure
  12. LOL, we got T Shirts, Hats etc, used to go see Kev a lot when we lived "darn sarf" and he was playing UK "Mick, me mate the master farter" etc etc
  13. Absolutely spot on !! Fresh MOT, and do the advises, unless it is a stupid advise, but then you need a different Tester IMO. Poll lol, ............................. How many of you change number plate or sidelight bulbs if one is a little dimmer than the other (black bulb syndrome) ????????????? I do, a 20 pence bulb and usually 10 mins max. This is the kind of thing billy spots, then starts looking for faults, getting advice from the bar room mechanics etc etc ant then he becomes a PITA 100% AGREED
  14. A "Spawny Eyed Parrot Faced" Wazzock at that
  15. I had that at my old unit, you will have to steam clean all that shite off first and then use a good quality (non Pikey), concrete floor paint / sealer, otherwise if you just go over it again it will continue to lift
  16. /\ /\ /\ agreed I have no problem with helping out the genuine traders on this forum, and have done my best to do so, what boils me about this thread and I can't be bothered re reading it again to re check numbers, but there are at least 5 first poster noobss on this thread who have been given Radio Codes for free, and haven't returned to even say thank you ..................... They aren't traders, they are some cheapskates who simply wasted everyones, including their own time, (remember it only took me 4 minutes to get a Ford V serial code for 99p), but instead of spending 99 measly pence these twats are signing up to a Car Traders Forum simply to get something for nothing !! And then a helpful guy or 2 is obliging them, and not even getting a thank you There is 2 just on this page !!
