  1. Ah sorry my bad! I tend to deal in slightly older higher mileage stuff that would require a lot of paint work to get them looking perfect. If they were as nice as your stock Mark then I would happily get the odd paint repair done here and there.
  2. Depends which way the wind is blowing! Honestly if the cars right, its right! Example 2007 BMW 320i M sport coupe 130k in black, sold in 7 days, 2009 CRV 163K, sold in 5 days and on the flip side, 2009 Ford mondeo titanium, 103k, sold in 68 days, Honda civic type S, 70k, couldn't sell it! Had to ebay auction it off dirt cheap. It REALLY depends on you adverts, pricing, your area, whats going on in the country, what colour knickers your neighbour is wearing next tuesday, what the minister had for breakfast etc. I agree Mark, they are second hand after all, they will have minor scuffs and bumps and I think 90% of punters would rather the car be mechanically sound than look like its just come out the showroom
  3. I'm in the 5k bracket and everyone's right, it's tough. It's a fine balance between older low mileage stuff or newer high mileage, both have similar prep issues. Just find what sells nicely and repeat.
  4. ............ Unreal, must have been on a festive bender for a few days!
  5. Bingo! Dolphin Grey! Glad you've all put my mind at ease, rest of the car is spot on, could just imagine waves of messages pointing out the colour difference and asking for a grand off!
  6. Great replies chap thanks, if it was brand new then obviously id be concerned and get it sorted, I think any punter would prefer slightly off coloured wings rather than rusty ones!
  7. Just noticed on one of my Audis (2006 A4) that the front wings don't perfectly match the rest of the car, I'm guessing they're new because there isn't a spot of rust around the arches at all like you'd expect. It's only really when you notice it that it looks off by half a shade, do you think any punters are going to be hugely put off by it?
  8. Dead as a door nail, had lots of calls in the first 2 weeks that only led to one sale, now its completely dead, hoping for a rush after boxing day!!!
  9. "Dont be a dick I really like the car" HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA seriously?!
  10. Yup got one in right now, 2010, 98k, got it cheap as it needed a new clutch (expected that) then the battery died knocking out the footwell control module, now every time you start it, the windows go down and won't go back up until you start driving it for a few minutes... Never bloody ending!
  11. I changed a battery on a mini the other day......... had to take it to my mechanic as you have to program the bastard in! As Dave2302 said, it's all about computers and software these days, no matter how much kit you buy, car manufacturers will bring out new software that requires another £5k diagnostics kit, you'll have more tablets and laptops than sockets!
  12. Still just the one this month... Waiting for 2 to be prepped (audi a4 front wing replacements and wipermotor + petrol flap for a bmw 118i) got 2 Mondeos and a mini all advertised and ready to go. Phones starting to ring a bit more which is good though!
  13. I always find the guy who's trying to outbid me and stamp on his foot
  14. Awesome thank-you for that info, it'll have a thoroughly heavy inspection before exchanging
  15. It's an s line but not a quattro unfortunately
  16. 2006, 4 owners. I think he's backing down? I offered him the px value subject to a look at the car and he seems reluctant to come over.
  17. Got one potentially comming in as a part ex against a BMW, chap says full service history, MOT history makes it look pretty good aswell. 98K miles. Obviously its a huge engine with a CVT, am I asking for trouble?
  18. I'm surprised they released one at all, I'm still waiting for autotrader to release one for their trade portal!
  19. No phone calls yet, 4 on sale, one in the garage and need to stock another one. Early days in December so can't complain!
  20. Thanks for the replies chaps, gave them a call and got a free 8 week trial, certainly makes buying alot easier!
  21. Just wondering if anyone uses the Autotrader retail checker tool thing to see how "desirable" a car is before buying it? Does it stack up to real world selling times etc or is it just a gimmick? I know alot of you allready know what sells and what doesn't so the tool would be completely useless to you.
  22. Out of curiosity, how much do you charge if you don't mind me asking?
  23. I feel dirty selling stuff around the 2.5K mark, let alone anything under that! Seeing all the UKCGR trade stuff go through at £400 a pop was painful, you know they're either being taken to a brokers yard OR getting a no advisory MOT being done by their family down the road. I always hope that I spot one of them on rogue traders one day!
