  1. True, it does seem like they get a sharper facelift every 6 months
  2. Got 20 odd photos and a video included, it's in reasonably good nick other than a tiny stone chip on the bonnet and a chip on the wind screen (repaired so cant see it that badly anymore), in dark silver with the black roof and black alloys so I would have thought it'd stand out nicely
  3. Evening all, Had a 2005 mini cooper s for sale for a few weeks now and I'm just not getting anything. Had one offer through gumtree and that's it. It's on Facebook, gumtree, eBay and autotrader. It's about in the middle on price, 12 months MOT, 66k, 2 owners. Are they just tough to shift? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  4. I've had this happen to me on an old truck I had, went in for a test and failed, spent the weekend fixing it only to have it stolen on the Sunday night before it was booked in for its retest on the Monday, which turned out to be the day the tax was due to come out of my account. Insurers said it was insured because it had a failed certificate, and my tax payment did go through. Hope that helps
  5. Okay so daft question, do you offer a warranty on the cars as you would your own stock or are they sold as seen?
  6. Great to see there's loads of fors and againsts. Have you ever had anyone demand their deposit back after not following through?
  7. Glad I've got you guys for advise! That was my main concern and then they'd bitch about the deposit etc
  8. Just considering doing some car sourcing along side the sales. I know alot of car dealers do offer a car finding service on their website. How often do you guys get asked to do it? Any experiences worth sharing?
  9. Has anyone had any luck with a decent key company in East Anglia? Just looking at a lot of cars that only have one key at auction, heard horror stories of getting a new key at the main dealer costing £500+, surely there's got to be another way?
  10. Might just give that a try, thanks for the advice
  11. I'm based in Corby so there are some great public transport links to all the surrounding auctions, looks like I'll be spending alot more time on trains and buses Normally deal in the 2-5k cars at the moment, seem to be plenty there but just get priced out of any reasonable profit. Always happy to get my hands dirty fixing mechanical issues but body work is beyond me
  12. Great point, I only really ever go to the Peterborough site out of ease, guess I'm spreading my wings to Bedford and Nottingham now!
  13. Hi all, I normally buy cars from BCA, but just keep getting outbid on most decent cars that don't need an arm and a legs worth of pre sale work doing to them. Is Manheim worth the application fee? Or is it just another BCA scenario? Thanks
  14. What's everyone's personal favourite? I've used a few of the cheap ebay ones that link up to your phone, looking for a more professional one.
  15. I guess it's all down to what 'audience' you aim for aswell. A 1k banger will attract a 1k banger punter. Are Audi buyers that bad then?? Seen alot of smart A4s at auction recently that have been very tempting
  16. What's everyones average? Is it all doom and gloom and the world of car sales is full of screamers? Or is it more a case of you only remember the bad ones?
  17. Thanks for the reply, I'm 26, clean licence, corby area. I think the main problem is I'm storing the cars at a separate residential address (basically my works address). I was quoted £1200 to keep them on my drive at home but there really isn't the space here.
  18. Hi all, new to the game and just starting out. Just sorted out my trade insurance with the chaps from thinkinsurance, it cost £1877 (cars kept at premises, no engine restrictions, 5k max value, test drives covered & personal vehicle included) Is that about right for a first timer?
