  1. Had a 163k CRV 2009 in a few months back, flew out the door. If its in great nick, low owners and full service history, i reckon anything under 175k is sellable. Just needs to have all the bells and whistles!
  2. No problem, you guys have all helped me out numerous times, glad to give something back!
  3. Its flexible pricing, so the more you pay the more it'll appear on other people Facebook, you can choose if you want people to call you, message you, go to website etc. You can set age range, gender, if they're into certain things. Think I Pay £14 for 2 weeks and thats in a 50m radius around corby and should reach over 2000 people, but then people have to click on it and follow links etc. Does get some conversations started. You can boost anything for your business like your website or a promotion. You can post stuff to the market place too, but you have to do that under your personal profile so do at your own risk. It has given me some leads but not as many as autoraper has. By the way, I don't work for Facebook! Haha Here's the results from a Golf I put on 4 days ago
  4. I do it through a "business" page, make a post of the advert and then boost it, it then appears on other people's feed as an advert
  5. Ive always been tempted to reply with a picture of a Fisher price car, asking if it was more in their price range
  6. It's given me some great leads, but you're right, guessing a keyboard to hide behind brings out people inner pricks!
  7. Yeah you'd think that, but its one I'm selling via the boosted advertising on there, (I've never put them on the market place, seems to be non stop muppets)
  8. Just had an interesting one over a Facebook ad, somebody commented "Are you a f****** idiot??? Go to Gumtree" Makes me miss the low ball offers and no messes! Anyone else getting this through social media marketing?
  9. Tensioner and water pump (if powered by the cambelt) always done at the same time, can't see the point in not getting them done if it's an extra half hour to change them.
  10. I tend to get it done if it needs doing within a year / 10k miles. More peace of mind for me, wouldn't want that dreaded phone call at 2 in the morning!
  11. Think they're the ones with Chocolate gearboxes (M32 gearbox), id avoid unless it's had a new one with the uprated bearings
  12. Half of my stock gone so far..... I only stock 2 cars
  13. Think wd40 is used to avoid an MOT advisory if the headlights are cloudy. Only stays clear till it's washed. As said before, wetsand, compound, Polish. And then clear uv resistant lacquer if you want to go the extra mile.
  14. I always make sure they come with a spare, not a remote one, just a manual one that can open the door and start it. Costs me £80 a key
  15. Used to have a 325ci, Went through a litre every 2000 miles. I think someone on here said that mini's are meant to use a litre every thousand aswell? Nothing beats my old subaru legacy with 135000 on the clock..... 5 ltrs every 2500 miles
  16. Its rare for engines to just "blow up", as said with the s2000, he could have gone into second instead of forth, or he's just been a twit and redlined it in every gear and not checked the oil. I always make sure all of my punters know to check the oil to catch any problems early and prevent anything like this happening. Get them to go through the PDI with you aswell, stating all fluid levels are correct at the time of sale and follow it up with an email reminding them to Check it over regularly!!
  17. I was wondering about that, so keep it and not leave it in the service history??

    Well that escalated quickly.....
  19. Cracking up on these comments! So judging by the history, it was actually replaced by VW cooks in Peterborough after a bolt flew out the block a month after they bought it from there. Still, As advised, keeping it on the low down. Its not like its a MK3 capri with a professionally reconditioned 2.8i engine replacement!
  20. I'm guessing its a reconditioned one, i'll keep it on the low down on the advert but tell them when qualifying them Thanks for the tips guys!
  21. Possibly picking up a well looked after 2008 golf TDI tomorrow, It's had the engine replaced a few years ago (professional job, receipts to back it up) Has this ever put punters off with you guys? Or are they happy its got a fresh one in?
  22. Stuck with the classic "Sale now on! £250 off!" Hopefully should shift it before the end of the month, its getting dusty!
  23. Agreed, been in the sales game for years now (sales with a local property developer) and people will always want more and more for less and less
