  1. One thing i’m struggling for is a decent quick responding refurb man. I have a garage a smart repairer a dents man and I do my own valets. It’s just little bits like this I need to fill in the blanks. Still, it takes time to get these relationships built I suppose.
  2. Cheers. Can’t find a replacement wheel for love nor money and been quoted around £100 to have it refurbished. For £20 materials and what looks like an hours patience it may be just the job.
  3. The stitch over leather type things. Anyone got any experience of them?
  4. He who dares rodders 2008 RR sport
  5. Well I might be tempting fate but on the face of it, there’s little wrong. The EML is on but it drives well (50 mile trip didn’t miss a beat) so hopefully that’s a straightforward sensor or something similar. The bodywork barely has a mark on it and everything works which is rare for any land rover let alone one with 92k on. Even found an extra 2 services in the docs that weren’t listed on the auction entry. Assuming the eml isn’t terminal then the gamble paid off!
  6. They’re shite in my book. Plastic cheap crap. But as you say not everyone wants a big German saloon. The light is on and burning brightly for the masses.
  7. I was someone who used to panic at day 45 and think about trading it out and I can see that if you are guaranteed to turn your forecourt once a month then it makes sense. I had a great conversation with Nick the OP on this thread the other day and he made that exact point that once you have paid for the prep costs it makes no sense to trade it out at a loss just to repeat the whole process with no guarantee of a quick turn. That said I'd struggle to look at something more than 90 days, as I am the type to try different things, change the wording of the advert, refresh the photos etc. If after 3 months I cant sell it I doubt I ever will.
  8. A cleaner might (have a think about that one)
  9. We'll soon find out! It will keep life interesting if nothing else. "Will I be driving it home, will I need a recovery truck, will it keep me awake at night, will I be doing cowboy whoops up and down the AH counting my profit" Who knows...
  10. It’s a Suzuki Alto, right?
  11. When your proxy bid on a car is £7,400 and the bidding stops at £6,100 and gets sold to you. I may have to rethink my means of collection at there’s a distinct possibility driving it myself won’t work lol watch this space kids
  12. You have to experiment and see what happens! Have read a few stories of people increasing the price and it going out the next day
  13. Hi Nick, I sent you a PM earlier today, did you get it? I’vs sent a couple of other members a PM and not got a reply so either everyone can’t stand me (likely) or my messages aren’t getting through!
  14. I wouldn’t say you’re ignorant at all, far from it. But whilst there are plenty on here asking for advice in dealing with a customer demanding refunds and quoting the CRA, none of them, once interrogated, confirm that they issue out a proper PDI. I don’t believe anyone on here thinks doing a PDI is a magical solution to prevent cars going wrong but there are many that realise (including me) that doing a properly worded PDI protects us against smart arse people who misinterpret the law for their own gain.

    Not really forced?
  16. Agreed. I don’t do anything like 5 a week but I still run my own. Only time I won’t is on things like this 545i tourer I have. I’ve paid for a 6 month 3rd party warranty for £220. Worth every penny on something like that.
  17. Sell it with a 6 month 3rd party warranty and take cover from day 1.
  18. Sell it up norf. No sunshine up there.
  19. I was disappointed you didn’t reply within seconds, this was a query right up your street!

    May sales

Seeing a difference this end too. More enquiries and a couple of sales. Still, if you believe some on here, the game is doomed, we’re in a recession and nobody has got a bean.
  21. cheers all, have ordered the Titan on Mark’s recommendation, I have some decent chemicals and valet brushes that should do the cleaning so hopefully the Titan will do the extraction well enough and i’m sure the 1400w will be plenty for the dry stuff.
  22. Great shout thanks. It doesn’t have the inbuilt solution spray that George has but it’s also £120 cheaper so I think for that sort of price i’ll use some elbow grease and a brush with a carpet cleaner and use your recommendation to extract any excess
