  1. I've always done OK with them, think the road tax is OK on the 1.6 as well
  2. And its bank holiday next weekend! Anyone got a spare noose?
  3. had 2 people turn up on the same car within 10 minutes of each other, amazing what a price reduction can do. Fortunately the first Billy went before the second one turned up, so no fighting. Second customer bought it after sitting in it for a minute. Waiting for someone else now who I've valued the part ex for over the phone based on their description - this could be interesting
  4. i'm with Barclays too, but to avoid commission charges pay it into your personal account and then transfer it over. It's what I do and the staff on the counter couldnt care less.
  5. dont use it day to day as I have a lengthy commute and wouldnt trust it for long, but I do have a 53 fiesta diesel I took in swap nearly 3 years ago that I use as my 'dump car' at the MOT station, or for going to the tip. Never washed it, it hasnt needed much each MOT and it has proved a useful parts bin for parcel shelf, mirrors etc. and only £30 road tax! Always smile when it starts and leaves a plume of smoke behind it.... I dont really like new cars anymore, but theres a bit of sentiment left for this one yet

    HELP

is the spider in the rover free too? could be a bonus when its flying ant day
  7. Just been talking to AT about this. If you're halfway good with computers (i'm not) I guess you could use their invoice style as a template. Otherwise its back to 'old school' pen and paper. I think AT are bricking it and this may just be a panic reaction, wait for the dust to settle. But in the meantime, we all need something.
  8. Arthur, commend your bravery, disappointing it hasnt worked out for you. At least youve been honest about it!
  9. Hi arthur, How are your sites getting on? After a poor April, got to take a look at how AT is performing
  10. She took a 13 year old car to Jeep??
  11. I loved cars, until I did this job. Now, my enthusiasm for them has left me to such an extent, I drive a diesel Insignia....
  12. I dont know the answer to this, and unless someone from one of those big companies is on here and gives us a categoric answer, none of us will. I can, however, be certain of one thing; it will be significantly less than any of us would pay!
  13. Too much water and you can see the 'rainbow effect' on the ground from the 'minor' oil leak!
  14. A bit of drizzle doesnt go amiss when they are picking a car up......
  15. Which means he's fed up with the stupid enquiries too. If anyone ever asks me for a deal which closely resembles a straight swap, I just ask myself, would I rather have my car or his? the answer is normally mine. That swapper, although rare and potentially profitable, looks like a twat magnet. You could spend a lot of time with 'brand ambassadors' before you sell it. And its isnt a young car either so potential for significant faults lurks.
  16. To be fair, I did get 9 months out of it, which considering the abuse it suffered was incredible. And there are a few sentimental Mums and dads with their offspring who happily tell their kids how good the cherry (and any other old Datsun) was. Sadly i missed the mark ups on those!
  17. Fussy f*****s. I put a poster of a 1980 Datsun Cherry on my 'office' (glorified shed) wall to show them that no matter what they think of the Ka, Corsa etc that they need to have as their first car at least it isnt one of those rusting pieces of s**t.
  18. 6 so far, which is the same as i manages in all of april. need to do 12 -14 a month so I guess I'm only 12 days behind.... But no one is changing for fun - of the 6 this month, 2 are new drivers, and of the other 4 2 have blown their previous cars up, 1 has flunked its MOT and the other one has p/exed a shagged focus in. one of the blown up ones is a 10reg Polo 1.2 - quality german engineering again, timing chain snapped! And theyve got to leave it on the driveway for another year because they've still got chucky on it....
  19. I dont know of a cheap repair on the non leather sort, would be interested to find out if there is one! On the occasion where its been so bad, I've bought a wheel off ebay.
  20. Maybe try and help her out with a garage recommendation? whereabouts is she? if she is near to one of us, we could suggest a garage that wont rip you off
  21. Silver. unless they rolled out of the factory Black
  22. I'd be suspicious. MOT info online. I'd try and get him to visit, or call him and talk him through it. if he 'hasnt got time to talk', wait for a proper punter on it
  23. The clear HPI report would be what you need. I think you say that it was clear when you checked it in 2016, and that now it shows that it was clocked in 2012? And have you sold it to a trader or to a private individual as a 'trade sale'? TS may just want to go through the trail, they may want to do more. But, having had a visit from them a few years ago, the picture they build up of you during your chat is likely to influence your future dealings with them. So get all the advertised mileages on your forecourt up to date, don't advertise something with 50000 miles if its done 50551. they want accuracy. And get all your paperwork in order so they can see all your cars advertised have current MOT's. Dont advertise with full service history unless theres a stamp there for every year (unless the manufacturer says differently)I'd also suggest a quick check that they all start and no bulbs have blown. If thy think that your cars which are currently available for sale are all good, they will look at you far more positively and listen to your side of the story.
  24. Opened on Saturday, didnt see anyone, did Monday 'by appointment' but no calls, hardly a surprise, you'd have had to be keen to be looking in this weather. I enjoyed having the time out with the family, having said that, if the Mother in law had been around..........
  25. I dont like Minis either, fussy customers, expensive to fix, and you never have the right colour combo. Are those wheels supposed to be black or are they silver ones resprayed? Because if they're supposed to be silver, that could put someone off (boy racer car)
