Hello,
I have a W204 2008 which will not turn over because the steering lock will not disengage.
Car was parked on full lock to the right.
Any pointers please ?EDIT : Ignore, just needed a little wiggle !

You could describe it as 2012 if you are sure that it was built before end of October that year.
And if you advertised it on AT by registration it would list as a 2012 car

Dec 2012 car, not 2013
I know, I know..

P. S. BCA Walsall is my least favourite auction place anywhere, I went there once this year in person just to collect and I will never go back there. Ever.
May I ask why ?
Sure is a long Thursday with only one lane and the site is a tired mess but some good buys from there

Had a quick google and nothing seems to be a common fault but anyone on here had any experiences? I assume the dash layout is similar for a few other pugs as well.
Cheers in advance.
Worse case scenario, there is a headunit on eBay for £150
Possible pleasant surprise if the battery was running low or a dash night switch (if they have them) was knocked on

Interesting, just as Mercedes introduce mild hybrids

I'd agree with that.

Used to annoy me how one of the London supermarket buyers stood beneath the rostrum atBCA Castle Bromwich and got everything he wanted for peanuts.
He used to eat his lunch in the back room with the auctioneers and interrupted the flow of the auctions with in-jokes.
I think the big guy with the curly hair has finally stopped 'up and down like a brides nightee' on *every*single*cabriolet*

It was relevant in the context of the conversation. So be it if anyone choses to take offence with the term.
The high mileage niche is high margin. Just not entirely sustainable.

4 minutes ago, EPV said:Cast off is a bit of a derogatory term.
A young couple chop a TT in for an Avant. Is the TT a cast off?
Does it have 150k+ and do you intend to retail it ?
-
Replied
In fact I made a point that all part-ex cars are cast offs, which I of course buy. So you are barking up the wrong tree.

Looks very tidy. What was CAP Clean on that ?
£6800 ish ?

No not you, but whoever you bought the car from.
-
It's a tricky one. Quite possible that the car was sold with the EML fault codes cleared for at the point of trade purchase, hence fault was present at point of sale?
-
Sounds like an imported car - quite common back then with all the car supermarkets
-
Fair enough, I liked your comment in response to Nick. It seems that your sales pitch begins to lower their expectations in line with CRA

29 minutes ago, EPV said:But I really can't see the point in duping people into believing they are getting something from me (all car repairs paid for) when I know they will be getting none of the sort.
1Things like this in your adverts can't help - surely it inspires certain expectations? :

1Not worth it in this instance
1) £6 taxi to train station2) £23 train to Nottingham (2.5 hrs !)
3) £12 taxi to BCA Notts
57 minutes ago, Max Branning said:Yes but was you then charged £40 for fuel, and the car delivered next day with an extra 200 miles on clock ??
Not charged for fuel cause it had 1/4 tank but they had taken it home the night before and added an extra 50miles
Ok with this being a cheapy, but its not on if its something of value.
Also the driver came down in convoy with his Mrs in her own car for the return leg. Can't have been worth it for them
-
I thought I did well : 55miles for £47
-
They require regular fluid changes otherwise the actuators get gummed up and the clutch packs wear prematurely.
The Fiesta / C Max / Focus (petrol) have a 'dry' system and are totally different.

'Lucas' you came over from China to set up as a car dealer in the UK ?

Had a black one for ever at low miles , and great history , A VW nut was the buyer in the end .
Nice little car though in my mind , loaded with toys , but thats the problem i think as it makes them look expensive for a toy car with little street cred for the young un's , Round here anyway
Yep - I remember back in 2011, a 4 year old Clio Campus would only cost £1600-£1850 to retail for £2895.
Who is paying £5000 for a 5 year old VW Up ?They are based on the Seat Citigo which new sold in Spain for £5300 GBP a few years ago.
