  1. Mark, As you know from our previous conversations I am in the same boat. So far and I don't want to tempt fate but I have sold everything I have had sale ready pretty quickly. I have to say I know a lot of my problem is not having a good enough network of repairers etc but I am in awe of the guys that a stocking 15 to 20 cars... how the hell do you manage it & more importantly how do you get the stock....
  2. If you look at the menu bar at the top there is a staff section. I would just personal message one of them....
  3. Ha Ha, thanks, my worry was if the knob end had the car he would wreck it and try to give it back... for me it was all about self preservation. I must admit I was seething... I am going to have to learn to deal with these plonkers and not take it personally...
  4. How the fook do these idiots survive in day to day life... are they so stupid that they do not realise what twats they actually are. I had my first terrible test drive experience today when I actually had to stop the test drive because he was wheel spinning away from junctions and swerving over the road apparently testing the suspension. I took over the driving and told him that I would not be selling him the car. At this point he became aggressive saying that he did not want the car anyway. While all of this was going on his poor father was sat in the back seat appologising for his 35 year old sons behavior.... As they left my drive the Dad came back over and said that they did want the car as he was buying it for him. I thanked him and again refused the sale. I actually felt really sorry for the father he was mortified by the son. I am from a B2B background and am very quickly beginning to despise the general public...
  5. Hi Matt, Your car will not be affected. It is only on new cars.... please see below. Despite the tax rises, the Budget was not as draconian as many feared. Fuel duty on petrol and diesel has been frozen until at least April 2019 and the increase in road tax for diesel cars won't affect existing owners, as it only applies to the first-year tax rate for new cars.
  6. Car Gurus is another option even if you sign up to the Free dealer portal as I have. I was very skeptical of the e-mail enquiries and stopped putting cars on. I had a phone call from them last week asking why I had stopped adding cars. I told them straight that I didn't believe that all of the emails asking about my cars were genuine. Anyway, I added 3 cars last week and sold one of them at the weekend and have had other enquiries since. These cars are also on Ebay.... Maybe worth a go !
  7. Hi Andy,

I hope you don't mind me messaging you....

I am a relatively new trader, started June last year and am inspired by you to be fair. I hope I can get to your level one day...

I have 4 cars in stock at the moment and am having problems managing them ha ha. I am sure I will get there but seem to have the age old problem of getting stock and getting a reliable network of mechanics to sort any problems out.

Anyway, well done to you and thanks for your time...

I must say this forum has been really helpful to me.

    Kind regards Dean.

  8. Hi Simon, Thanks for this... I know its an old car but it is in lovely condition... being the estate as well I have a fair potential margin. Maybe down to lack of experience ha ha
  9. Will do Grant... Twerp....Yes I looked on Ebay but nothing near 75,000 miles. Nearest 93,000 Thanks Tradex, lets see how we get on.
  10. No Grant, its a company called Revtronic in Bradford. No idea if they are any good....
  11. Thanks... I have had a quote for £80.00 to fix cluster...
  12. Hi, No its just the speedo, the rev counter etc still works....
  13. Hi Tradex, Thanks for reply.. The car is a 1.6 Petrol, Basically, no loss of power... the speedo needle drops to zero and starts working again when the you turn off the ignition and restart the car... The rev counter is unaffected...... Thanks again, Dean.
  14. Morning all, I wonder if you can help. I purchased a 2004 Ford Focus estate last week in lovely condition with only 75,000 miles on the clock. When I was driving it home the speedo dropped out and then came on again, I thought not a problem it will be the speedo sensor which is an easy fix with the part being £10.00 and a bit of labour..... anyway, just had a call from the mechanic to say the speedo senor has not made a difference and he said it could be the head itself. My question is that if I replace the head it will be a different mileage. This car has potentially has a nice profit in it which will be greatly reduced if I change the head. Is it possible to get a mileage correction on the replacement ? Thanks in advance.... Dean.
  15. Just started a to hoover a nice little Toyota Yaris I purchased from a lovely old lady who had owned the car from new. Very prim and proper and a delight to deal with.. My thoughts have now changed, there was a selection of dried bogies neatly stuck to the front of the seat bolster, some of them are impressive as well. It wasen't just one or two it was a whole army of them. I just can't picture this dear old lady with her finger up to her knuckle fishing these bastards out.....
  16. I am so sad, I had already worked out this was half a pint of Stella in the rugby club......
