I hope you are not in ‘ The Trouser Leg Club’ Mark.

So the French are going to sidestep EU regs with secret subsidies and get away with it.It is the same in the steel industry.Meanwhile the UK follow the rules to the letter and huge plants in difficulty employing thousands get closed down.

Amazon in advanced talks with car firms to sell cars online
trade vet replied to James Baggott's topic in General Dealer Chat
There will be a lot of RHD new stuff sitting around at the moment. How might the manufacturers react if they offer to take 500 of X every 3 months less 50% and pay now.? -
Water damaged,18 plate,1k ,there will be little wrong with it. 5 grand should be OK.Just a quick call to Aviva or whatever to get it taken off the list. Then ‘ bobs your uncle ‘ ,it will ‘ waltz out at 10 grand ‘..............sorry,I think you should just forget it .

Amazon in advanced talks with car firms to sell cars online
trade vet replied to James Baggott's topic in General Dealer Chat
It will probably happen.Amazon can order and prepay for 1000s of stock without blinking.Off topic,Anyone following BBC 3 Breaking Fashion about selling crap fashion ( called fast fashion) with the help of social media influencers.Real eye opener about understanding the must have mentality of millenials . -
When I was a kid,I used to wash and leather off the stock every morning before 10.I can still remember my record which was 28 cars in an hour.To do that the wind speed and the temperature had to be right and you needed a good large wash leather !

Off topic. We have been to LA several times and occasionally go to a mini retail park in Malibu. My wife goes to the shops and I go and watch the detailers at The Malibu Car Wash off the car park.( check them out ).Its a great business but I don’t think you could replicate it somehow in Tyne and Wear.
-
He certainly does.£900 for minting an A3,that is where you want to be Kieran.
-
Sorry but my view is different. If the valeting/ detailing business works, getting into retailing from the same premises may be a distraction.Involving 2 others with no experience will not help and will substantially increase your workload and you will likely fall out.OK using your Dad as he should work for next to nothing. While it is easy to sell cars, the bottom line is that even if you have years of experience,it is now very hard to make any decent money in this job.
-
Now we are getting somewhere.Your customer confirmed in writing they were accepting your offer.I would say she was entering into a contract at that stage and she subsequently reneged. That might make a difference but don’t bank on it.

OK. Do you sell Imprezas to many women. Then being a specialist why did you not just get the car back and a give your customer a full refund.I would expect you must be used to rebuilding them ! Based on my experience of selling a handful of them,I think CRA 15 and retailing old Imprezas is not a good mix.
-
Good example of asking for trouble.Sorry but why would you want to retail a 12 year old Impreza if you have been trading for 10 years..What sort of woman would want to buy it,did no one within your family business not ask any questions. Good Luck.

Sold a CAT D - customer wants to return it 2 .5 yrs later
trade vet replied to RHA's topic in General Dealer Chat
This topic is getting rediculous.Hit lister,exported,60k,2 mot’s,vehicle sold on to third party, head gasket, etc, then entertaining a claim from 3rd party relating to the original buyers contract 2 years ago......I’m out !- 73 replies

trade vet replied to RHA's topic in General Dealer Chat
Hi RHA 60 thousand miles in 2 years.? This is what I would do.Tell him that you have taken advice and you want sight of the import documentation and Irish MOT details to make a comparison. The duty is calculated on the Irish open market value which is far higher than here.It is not unknown for Irish guys in the past to increase the mileage and change their purchase invoice in order to reduce the duty payable.A vehicle on the hit list would also have a lower value. The punter will presumerably be able to get copies from the Irish tax people if he has’nt got them.- 73 replies

That’s good.If a critically acclaimed CDM contributor like Rory is promoting you, there surely should not be any problem David.

You could try Bugsy Malone

Ha Ha ...Really.....I think Andy and James should request to view the evidence and look at the invoices for these transactions to help prove the applicants credibility.I would certainly like to hear the story,it sounds like something from the 70’s.
