    I tend to use FB boosted posts to shoecase a completed camper, this is aimed at a target audience. Also do the same on Instagram, I'm more for brand awareness then selling a particular vehicle. I spend around £20 per boosted post, The camper Im doing now was a result of Instagram.

    Occasionally people say to me when they’re looking at a car “it’s had paint” to which my reply is “it’s an 8 year old car in very good cosmetic condition. I’d be amazed if it hasn’t had a small repair here and there. It’s a testament to the previous owners that they kept on top of things like that. It is however, HPI clear and has never been written off” And I leave it at that. If someone wants to crib a car because it’s been maintained and repaired then they can do so but I won’t be listening to them for very long.

    Its YOUR client as it's your stock that is what has made that customer apply !! ... this is why i cant stand 24/7 ! I personally think 24/7 is a piss take as with their "stock search" being open to the general public and not secured, they get people to apply using your cars as bait and then charge you for the privilege of selling your own stock when it was your car that made them apply originally.There are other brokers that have a stock search but you have to apply to get acsess to it so you can kind of accept theses are actually organic customers and I don't mind paying for them but 24/7 is just Car Craft !! all your cars are on Car Crafts website so as above people see YOUR car and want to buy it so your car has generated the lead for 24/7 and they charge you for it... if you actually sit back and look at this its a joke !!!

    The first site genuine buyers look at is Autotrader, its the market leader by a huge margin. IMO, no point in duplication.

    I’d go for the unit. 1 - Only 15 mins away, not 50. (When potential customers don’t turn up, you’ve only wasted 30 mins in the car, not nearly 2 hours!) 2- Cars are more secure, will stay dry and clean inside. 3 - Roadside/passing trade is a thing of the past, most people search on line first, so not an advantage. (You’d get the odd walk in but a forecourt of just 7 wouldn’t make many stop by, they don’t know there’s 30 more round the back) 4 - The unit would hold as many as the pitch/yard. If my maths are right!!

    Fb is a place for c**ts. I’m pissing into the wind but personally I’d ban it & a few other divisive platforms - it brings the worst out in many people. Remember 25-30yrs ago the outcry about introducing identity cards? The likes of Fb have harvested far far more data and the best thing is, is the stupid public don’t mind. Of course all this is immaterial as I’m aware my views are outdated (if you won’t say it to someone’s face don’t put it on email/forum).

    Ditto with the valeter - you dont need to employ someone to do that, find a mobile valeter who will charge you per car instead of being a drain on your bottom line every month. I pay 30 to 40 per valet. if he was on minimum wage he would be costing me the same as 10 valets per week, and I dont have that sort of turnover. You'll have plenty of other fixed costs, you don't need another.

    The punter when buying it won’t notice it.A problem may occur sometime later when they are showing it off to friends or family who will point it out and delight in saying it has been in a serious accident.......So be prepared for that.

    24/7 We don't deal with full stop for the reasons above. Zuto we do quite a bit with as their process shows that the customer has applied for finance and then found our car in their stock search so there is no need for us to burn that bridge. It's a steady stream of pre approved customers that we "might" not of had without them, they also don't charge us either (something to so do with conversion) so we'd be daft to pinch those customers and lose 7/8 free deals a month.

    its winter low light lots of shade, its 12 yrs old you have to go with what you have, if you painted them no guarantees its perfect, I say sell as is

    We're both young too. Ryan (my partner) is 27 and I'm 23. As long as you're learning from your mistakes then you will inevitably progress! Autotrader package should work out cheaper for you than PAYG with better results, especially when your website is up and running. We used Clickdealer for our website, the setup fee is small and the monthly fees are not extortionate, they can also feed your stock into AT, Ebay/Gumtree and any Facebook business pages etc. With a valeter, rather than employee someone who you may not have work for have you looked at sub-contracting someone who does trade work? Prior to this, Ryan was a full time valeter/detailing, mainly doing higher end cars but would bulk his diary up with trade work and had contracts with 4/5 garages. They rang when they needed him and paid per car. I'll pm you with the other stuff. -Kelly-

    In this day and age its all about communication, nobody wants to call you like in the good old days and thats why facebook s so good for us, once they have seen the ad on Autotrader or ebay 40% of people will message us on facebook messenger the next 50% will call and 10% will email, for me facebook is like my business card but a lot more, people can check us out, see what we are about, we don't post ads about a car for sale we occasionally post a collage showing 6 cars that have just arrived, we're not about likes although we do want 1000 genuine likes (1000 true fans), customers that actually like what we do, not silly followers that are just waiting for a competition to come up.

    Good advice there, and welcome to the forum. I stock 5-12k and my finance penetration is very low really, people can borrow cheap money at that price point so don't worry about stocking £4k stuff and not getting any joy.

    £2000 seems to be the new £1295 if you look in your autotrader everything under 1695 is shredder material, high mileage over priced expensive road tax and undesirable spend a good few hours looking in your local area to whats really selling a good tip is to pretend to sell a car on autotrader and see how many hits your type of car gets ie a chevrolet spark gets low hits because nobody knows what it is but on a pitch it can sell quick because it looks low numbers for a newer plate so something like say a peugeot 107 has high hits but do the numbers here........

    In our experience FB has provided us a great platform to promote our business, we are in a rural area too and it’s allowed us to build a following and awareness of our business, generate positive reviews, gain great reaches through boosted posts, and sell plenty of cars from. I can imagine the market place would probably be a waste of time, but that’s not the way to use it IMO. I wouldn’t be without it. Hate the new managers app though they need to revert it back to the old one!
