Fuck me. £75 a valet. And that kid should’ve stuck with it. £90 a pop and he could’ve been doing better than some dealers

Hi 15 cars i pay anything from £10 for a mini valet on older stuff and the better stuff ranges from that to £50 depends on which car wash/ valeter I use I use a mobile guy also who does full valet machine polish etc for £85 I also do some.myself .. depends how I'm feeling how busy I am or if I'm in the mood sometimes I think the car wash places rush to much .

There has been a further dip on the Sterling exchange rate recently hence a few more Irish buyers. I also expect they are trying to get in before the potential Brexit fiasco.

Can I just remind everyone this is a trade site, there seems to be a few ads creeping in where the "vendors" seem to think they are selling to consumers, both in the descriptions and prices.... Doesn't overly bother us, but you are wasting your time if you think anyone on here is going to pay retail for a car...

Some of these Eastern European car wash’s are good guys and they can do a lot for £30.Then just finish them off yourself. No need to use one of these new bullshit breed of prima Dona valeters called detailers. They tend to be too expensive, too slow, don’t like doing wet vacs and when you show them how to cut corners, they take the huff. They don’t understand that a lot of the best car dealers started off as valeters.

Yes sure, realised that, but they've only phoned for the cheap, white German diesels - the 'trader' from Dublin that I've been chatting with this afternoon has said his punters do not care about miles or history - they just want white and cheap! :-)

Actually it is very common that there are misleading points in the government forms and no one asked for your advice about my sharpness. So please mind your own business Mr. Smart! One reason I became interested in this industry was the number of stupid car dealers whom I dealt with!!!!

Screwfix "Titan" wet/dry vacuums - unbeatable and cheap. VAX for shampooing interiors when the spray-foam won't cut it (available as recon on eBay brand new, for under £100)... Argos for pressure washer - look at flow rate and get a decent one for less than the price of a Karcher hose. Karchers, in my experience, don't last.

I looked on site and they all seem to be main dealer group types who are obviously sick of the greedy monster, I sent a request to join but they basically said only looking for big boys.... well fcuk u,,,, ha ha

My case: I worked out how much I was spending on PAYG valeting and realised for a little more, I could employ someone 2 or 3 days per week for not much more. So I have and my business has revolutionalised. He moves stock, handles customers (when I am busy), test drives, collects cars, parts, valets, answers the phone, fits number plates, small non-skilled mechanical fixes, inflates tyres - you get the picture. Costs me £9 per hour and he is now more or less full time, all above board with invoice plus he invoices other work on the days off, so I am covered from the 13 week employment law. Yes, we have run ins and I have lost my shit twice with him (speed and talking too much on his phone) but he is great to have around. Conclusion: I couldn't manage the level I am at (around 15-20 stock) without him now (or someone else if he goes).

I’m guessing extremely niche stuff perhaps Porsche 911’s, Mercedes SL’s or similar?

Warm solution of Brisk low foam from autosmart , never failed to clean anything yet . When the motor packs up I'll be having another .
