Cheap cars attract cheap punters...always harder to sell a £600 part ex than it is a £6000 bit of retail stuff IMO. Just because you're knocking out old shitters doesn't mean the customers don't have high expectations. Loads of stuff needs replacement wheel trims, a valet wouldn't go amiss, some paint on many, floor mats etc. Cheap fixes and more effort i'd say. I can't stand sub £2000 punters because they're so unrealistic about what £2000 buys in our location and the cars ALWAYS need a load of money pumped into them. Have you thought about knocking out all those old sheds and dropping your personal expensive cars and re investing in say a dozen nice mid priced units?

Personally I'd rather spend my money on drugs and prostitutes than any high mileage Vauxhall.

Hi Southeast If I am looking at the right pitch in Aylesbury on AT,If it is,it looks like a half hearted operation. It does not look like a business run by a 15year pro.Stuff badly photographed next to wheelie bins, badly presented needing paintwork and who does your valeting.A lot of your stock appears cheap enough but it looks like the wrong stuff to me.You cannot skimp on paintwork and valeting and stock has to look right. The stock in the background appears not to be lined and priced up with any flair and,in which case I am not surprised Trade has declined......I would say stick to what you are doing but you may need to try harder..

Battery replaced, followed by a 20 mile drive mostly motorways, driven to 6,000 rpm, plenty of kickdowns and not a single issue. I'll do the same again tomorrow before handing back to the customer and hoping that it's done the trick.

Best car I owned, a 2007 CLK220 CDI, bought in 2012 at 175K miles for around £3900, sold in 2016 at 251K miles for £3500 (and it was a very quick sale). The biggest thing it needed replacing other than tyres and brakes was a split boost pipe, around £60.

If your near me bring 'em in, if not get a good local Indie with SDS, but buy 'em for buttons, then spend a few $$ and sell for top dollar That's how I got into Selling again up here, you gotta be brutal, but can make a good buck for a little effort Oh, BTW, 2017 and above E Class, (and C & S), in a couple of years these will be going for pennies, because when all the Audio / Telematics / Cloud systems go wrong they will be un fixable to the majority When fixed good return I can't wait

I'm not a million miles away but my stock is £5-11k so unlikely to get a £750 trade in and if someone did offer one up I'd bid them £200 so they'd sell it somewhere else!

Corsa's are one of the hardest sellers to make sensible money from unless you are buying them at half of book and selling them at bottom book. I hammer them if they come in as a part exchange as you just can't shift them and the buyers are right pain pointing out the tyres and brakes are not new every time without fail.

@EPV is down that way I think he might get a trade in to offer you. If I lived in Skye I don't think I would ever be in the office to sell cars I would be out in the Cuillins all day that would beat dealing with screamers

Of course. Try buying a bargain car with outstanding finance... The seller has had 7 viewings, 7 people as soon as they found out about the outstanding finance walked away and all he wants is finance settled so his monthly payment stops irrespective of the value of the car. So a £6.5K car could be yours for £4200, all you have to do is pay the finance company over the phone with the seller listening. Private buyers just don't dare do that because they think "if it's too good to be true..."

That much! I’ve kept reducing & now got about £120 wiped across one & it’s still of absolutely no f***ing interest to anyone. A shame because I actually don’t mind Corsas but for a selling proposition I might as well stick up an advertising sign next to the local school with a picture of Gary Glitter’s face on it.
