He must be dog-shit cheap.

I think I’m cheap and advertised two, I left them months & all I got was one email wanting to slice £800 off a £1999 car.

An obvious observation maybe but:

Not used Shopck myself but did look on it once and got annoyed/bored/angry very quickly.

For me the problem with that and Gumtree is the way it lists items as a scrolling ranking list by date and time.

If your car is four pages down because it was listed two or three weeks ago plus, then I think people either don’t see it or they assume it’s an old ad and probably sold.

Most enquiries I get from Gumtree start with ‘is this still for sale?’

Imagine Autoraper and others listing by this default. I’m surprised Gumtree do it this way and they’re missing an obvious trick for car sales

It’s OK for a listing for some old tat you’ve got to sell in your shed but for me is flawed for cars.

They give you a few ‘bump up’ opportunities a month but doesn’t solve the issue.

He sell cars at £400-3000. He said under £1000 cars sell good on Shpock.

He doesn't use any computer or smartphone. A part-time young man help him post to Shpock and AT.  Since then I learned AT price is dependent on the car value!!! Old boy using AT pay as you go for his under £1K cheap cars. Only paying £9.99 AT ads fee pre car! I paid £100 pre car!!

Not yet. Not even got a phone call yet. So embarrassed!

4 cars on AT for 18 days. No phone call yet. The ads performance attached. Only 511 views in the whole time. Very little!!

18 days - nothing to worry about.

My average days to turn is 44 but that means nothing as some sell in 1 day and some in 180 days - just got to make your ads the best they can be with cars to match and it will come.

I think Lucas should start a thread and ask for help etc just on that one thread (and not add another for a while? Rather than posting a new one every uptime. In the Private Lounge anyway.

I will enjoy helping him if I can and, will be a fun read.

Obviously the heading is ‘Mates!’ :o)

This topic has been discussed so many time but curios to see who uses what and any feedback on good bad indifferent.

AA Cars

Autotrader

Carsnip

Carcliq

EBay

Facebook Marketplace

Find and fund my car

Piston heads

Motors

RAC Cars

Shpock

Have I missed any?

Thanks

In last 5 months sales data for my garage, average 25 sales a month. Our 60% sales from AT and 40% from FACEBOOK. I am using eBAY/Gumtree , CarGurus and google too. But AT is paying off and now this Facebook too. I have given notice to CarGurus and eBay Motors Pro too. They are just useless now. No sales, just tyre kickers. I have tried Motors.co.uk and RAC cars and Carsnip. But only paying ones are AT and now Facebook.

Facebook seems to be  on the up, keeps coming up on here with people rating it as a  platform that  they are seeing benefit from

Dinosaurs like me should be more open minded to new ideas
