Frazbomb 3 Posted October 10, 2018 I'd probably put that though a classic auction, there are some crazy buyers at these places. We've sold a few through these lot https://www.classiccarauctions.co.uk/ and achieved very good prices on fairly mediocre condition modern classic stuff (190e Merc, couple of impreza's and a SL55)

It's me 615 Posted October 10, 2018 never liked them used to see them coming down the chute at 3 years old and thinking what a boring car i have this vision they were all in wulsborg silver too? kids can get cheapo classic insurance on these so it will possibly will sell but to me i would be looking and chancing 2g
BHM 994 Posted October 11, 2018 I could be wrong but I don’t see that model of 1.4 Golf as an ideal auction proposition, surely it’s a classified ad job. It’s far from being desirable in terms of model, engine or specification. Just cos it’s old & low miles doesn’t mean it’s desirable - the sort of tosser who’d want it won’t have much money & those with any money won’t want an underpowered Golf. My second in command who is a bit new to the job can't understand why I don't deal in them. Rather then repeating myself I often point him towards this forum so he can try and understand where I'm coming from. I'll make sure he reads this little nugget. Mark101 536 Posted October 11, 2018 (edited) I see it differently. My first car was a Mk2 Escort 1.3 Pop with twin choke Webber and a K&N filter, paid £290 and resprayed it. I was soooo embarrased to drive it as it was the equivalent of the 80/90's chav car. Even in that spec, I couldn't afford to buy a clean one nowadays. Personally, I would drop the fluids and replenish and store in a dry place for the next 20 years - remember this post. If you want it gone PM me - I hate that model but I can see the future appeal. NOACROSS 414 Posted October 11, 2018 Yeah- probably have to apply for a limited availability classic car /petrol exemption pass! For a fee of course and no-doubt petrol will be priced /taxed accordingly. (Crap September but seems back to normal now- fingers crossed)

Dave2302 387 Posted October 14, 2018 Yeah, but have you not heard that "Dial a Shags" always drop their Chips Mine were fairly 'high end' Dial a Shags and to be fair, at the time, they probably didn't know that they were Dial a Shags Our local restaurants always used to grin when i'd show up with a different one, but to be fair they never said a dicky bird I like Chinese and Indian, and also when living on your own it saves time cooking and washing up, and a bunk up at the end of it ....................
