Hi JGW

Forget retailing, you can’t start up in this job with little experience and a shortage of funds.

However, from what you say,it appears you can buy.I know an ex BCA guy who set up as an auction buyer for account holders on a commission basis. He thought it would be part time, but he has been inundated because he charges less than the BCA online buyers fee !

Just to throw some figures around, I suppose if he is charging £25 a bonnet, 10 cars a day. Not a bad way to make a living

That wouldn't happen to be Ivan the Ex General Manager at BCA Newcastle. He does seem to be doing very well out of his new venture.

£250 a day x 5 days £1250 a week x 48 weeks to allow for xmas and holidays £60k a year not a bad wage for waving your hand in the air, and no risks.

Less your fuel costs plus any overnight expenses and I can't believe he's doing 10 a day five days a week anyway.

Don't get me wrong it's not exactly road sweepers money but sounds like an awful lot of work for a modest income. Depends on where he lives I suppose, his situation etc. Anyway, whatever, good luck to him if he's happy with his lot, who am I etc...

I think the pro buyers charge £40 - £50 (inc Ivan :D) and they get free accomodation from auction houses. Collection from nearby train stations, pick of the bunch at the local strip club etc....

£60k Crap income etc down your way ! Who would want to live down there.I can honestly say I have never needed our company to pay me anywhere near that to get a descent standard of living. We must be very lucky living up north. We did have a mansion block flat down there and I recall the committee were getting quotes for painting the window frames on 90 flats. They were seriously considering quotes of £400 to £600 grand. So when I said, just get a Geordie painting firm to come down and put them in a B&B and they will do the job for 50 grand, they thought I was taking the piss.

My guy (also ex BCA) covers the Midlands and charges £50 for cars upto £10k (and more over)

He often buys 50+ in a week and finishes when the auctions finish

Not bad work

Yes he was. My thought process entirely.

He was also a sensitive flower when the nasty Internet man gave him a dose of straight talking instead of a cuddle.

I wonder if he fell for the "this is a piece of piss YouTube videos" like I did?

Don't worry @EPVi can handle it I'm a big boy, especially after the steroids

How did you manage a loss on that? What about that little swapper you took in against the fiesta? Thought you'd done alright with them two?

Sorry to hear it tho.

Bottled and blown out in order to facilitate ‘restratergising’ or something similar from memory.

Many are called. Few are chosen.

 Bless.

Wonder what his plan is. Main dealer. Pointy shoes...
