Ex motab car condition

We have just bought an ex motab car which arrived this morning....

delivered on a wagon which was unusual.... came to check the car off and I can only describe the condition of the interior as toxic. ( not described in the report )

I have never seen such a disgusting interior stains everywhere, sticky material piles of rubbish and the smell was unbearable, even our valeter has refused to move the car and wont attempt to clean it ( don't blame him ) so we will sending it back, I cannot understand how people let their cars get like this just from a hygiene point of view also, if this person had bought the car to us for a service we would have refused due to its condition.

anyone have similar experiences with foul interiors.

Nowhere near your experience but I valet my own cars and find ancient French fries, coffee stains, dog hair that looks like it’s been stitched in etc. You think, if that’s their car what are their homes like?

I could never imagine handing a car back somewhere in that condition I would feel ashamed. and I would also make someone feel ashamed if they tried to hand it back to us like that.

I have got to do a particularly unpleasant Subaru Impreza WRX interior, its one owner from new, but the owner had his dog as his long time companion by the looks of it. It absolutely stinks. You'd think after spending all that money on it he would look after it!

I'm not looking forward to dealing with the inevitable test pilots either.

I have a Karcher Puzzi wet vac. A couple of times the liquid in the waste bucket after I've done a deep valet on a seemingly clean car was exactly like engine oil from an old diesel. One of the reasons I prefer even a fake leather interior to a cloth one...

MOTAB cars have always smelled of urine, dogs, cigarettes, horse shit, cannabis, human shite, and the auctions cleaning porducts on top..... we have finally decided that these cars cannot be bought without first having sniffed the interior.

I tried to argue with BCA that the smell of Motability stuff was ‘material’ to the description for online buyers because we have had stuff where it has been impossible to remove the odour.We have actually replaced seats ,took out carpets and jet washed them and in no time the odour reappears....Of course I got nowhere with BCA so our guys just don’t buy them anymore.

Is it any wonder motability operations offer a £250 good condition return bonus to all their customers whose cars come back needing minimal prep for resale.

Sorry, but I disagree. They’re absolute shite & wear off in a day or two in my opinion. You need to get rid of the source of the stench by heavy cleaning, recleaning and then ozoning. Even then it won’t be 100% but a valet & an ozone does enough at my end of the market. Tbh the only way is to replace seats etc if they’ve been soaked in piss or immersed in a cloud of cannabis smoke for 3 years.

This is another reason why I don’t understand why some dealers rave about ex motability cars and ad it into their descriptions like it’s a good thing.

Most motibility owners around here live on council estates, own Staffies called Tyson and have many kids named after various sports brands.

I was involved in a pilot scheme RAC & BCA  18yrs? ago or so grading end of lease motab stuff, some of it was exceptional back then but we had to introduce a menu on the reports for interior after seeing/smelling some of them, I can only assume this has been dropped since? problem with some of the owners and the reason they've got the vehicle in the first place is they're disabled and  unable to get out of the car for a shit/piss in time... also on inspecting these was the obvious blatant bullshitters who got them then leased them out to family/local drug dealers/taxis you name it the scum have done it..

Whilst testing assured cars you would not believe the crap we found and the state of some cars, especially money barn and WBAC. BCA Wolverhampton even introduced a Hazardous section for such cars where specially trained valeters were the only ones allowed to enter, we couldn't even test them until they'd been "de-hazardized" !!

£250..I did not know that.When you think about it,it should be a grand for a return and renewal,Motability Operations have few problems when you consider their directors are creaming off millions in remuneration and bonuses.With their Charitable status they have generated £2.5 billion in cash and pay out very little to good causes and it appears the government won’t intervene.

Quite why someone getting £85 pw DLA, & sat at home cos they can’t (or won’t) work, would choose to piss it away on a new Motability car is beyond me anyway. It just goes to show how vain/stupid people are - about £375 per month on a car in which to urinate in or let their dog urinate in. That’s almost £4500 p.a.! Personally I’d investigate the punters who choose to use their allowance in such a fashion & any irregularities would result in cessation of their DLA. Sorry, but this Motability nonsense has been going on unchecked for decades & it’s time some of these bloodsuckers got a taste of the world of work. It’s hard out their these days but there are still far, far too many living on the sweat of others.

The social housing estates (I’m no snob & no offence is intended here) seem to be half full of either 10yr old Audis & Range Rovers in drug dealer specification, bald tyres & all, or family car dross up to 3 years old which I can only assume is Motability supplied. If I were given £4500 per year I certainly wouldn’t be tipping it into the local Hyundai dealer.

DLA is not means tested, it's an 'allowance' not a 'benefit'?

Motability scheme would require you to swap your higher rate mobility component for 'a car'. There are many people who need/use their cars to go to work, they don't necessarily live on council estates?
