Dan W 57 Posted June 9, 2018 We have just bought an ex motab car which arrived this morning.... delivered on a wagon which was unusual.... came to check the car off and I can only describe the condition of the interior as toxic. ( not described in the report ) I have never seen such a disgusting interior stains everywhere, sticky material piles of rubbish and the smell was unbearable, even our valeter has refused to move the car and wont attempt to clean it ( don't blame him ) so we will sending it back, I cannot understand how people let their cars get like this just from a hygiene point of view also, if this person had bought the car to us for a service we would have refused due to its condition. anyone have similar experiences with foul interiors. It absolutely stinks. You'd think after spending all that money on it he would look after it! I'm not looking forward to dealing with the inevitable test pilots either. A couple of times the liquid in the waste bucket after I've done a deep valet on a seemingly clean car was exactly like engine oil from an old diesel. trade vet 702 Posted June 9, 2018 I tried to argue with BCA that the smell of Motability stuff was ‘material’ to the description for online buyers because we have had stuff where it has been impossible to remove the odour.We have actually replaced seats ,took out carpets and jet washed them and in no time the odour reappears....Of course I got nowhere with BCA so our guys just don’t buy them anymore. Paddy 31 Posted June 9, 2018 (edited) I was involved in a pilot scheme RAC & BCA 18yrs? ago or so grading end of lease motab stuff, some of it was exceptional back then but we had to introduce a menu on the reports for interior after seeing/smelling some of them, I can only assume this has been dropped since? problem with some of the owners and the reason they've got the vehicle in the first place is they're disabled and unable to get out of the car for a shit/piss in time... also on inspecting these was the obvious blatant bullshitters who got them then leased them out to family/local drug dealers/taxis you name it the scum have done it.. BCA Wolverhampton even introduced a Hazardous section for such cars where specially trained valeters were the only ones allowed to enter, we couldn't even test them until they'd been "de-hazardized" !! It just goes to show how vain/stupid people are - about £375 per month on a car in which to urinate in or let their dog urinate in. That’s almost £4500 p.a.! Personally I’d investigate the punters who choose to use their allowance in such a fashion & any irregularities would result in cessation of their DLA. Sorry, but this Motability nonsense has been going on unchecked for decades & it’s time some of these bloodsuckers got a taste of the world of work. It’s hard out their these days but there are still far, far too many living on the sweat of others. The social housing estates (I’m no snob & no offence is intended here) seem to be half full of either 10yr old Audis & Range Rovers in drug dealer specification, bald tyres & all, or family car dross up to 3 years old which I can only assume is Motability supplied.
