MattGM 12 Posted July 2, 2017 Personally, I think the original Sciroccos would be good to get hold of for an investment. I bet they'll be worth a pretty penny in years to come, if they aren't already. Then you've got the low volume 'special' versions of run of the mill motors. I'm talking Cavalier GSI/Turbos, Primera GTIs, 406 coupe. The interesting thing is they don't have to even be good cars

With these sorts of performance saloons there comes a point when they aren't bought to be fast cars but to be appreciated. Look how many lovely mk1 Escort Mexico/RS had their originality ruined with vauxhall engines

CJ Underhill 34 Posted July 3, 2017 Modern Classics are the way forward at the moment Anything 70's/80's early 90's.. Mercs, BMW, Hot hatches etc Also, keep an eye out for the early Jap stuff. Mitsubishi Evo's, Poobarus, Skylines etc as there will be a good export market to the USA

I saw them going up. The problem was finding one that wasn't leaking, had working vanos and hadn't been ruined by 'modders'. I gave up. They're now £5-7k A chap has just pulled into the garage at the back of us with a 90s Mitsubishi GTO Twin Turbo, which is quite cool but looks on the heavy side. This looks nice http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1995-BMW-E34-530i-V8-Manual-Red-with-Grey-Leather-Best-Sounding-Car-Ever-/142414021897?hash=item2128898509:g:SaQAAOSwOMdZQEJo
CJ Underhill 34 Posted July 3, 2017 GTOs are nice, but bulky.. I prefer the FTO with the Mivec engine

betginge 73 Posted July 7, 2017 I bought my Mg Maestro 7 years ago for £600 its now worth £4-£5k Bonkers We have an old Mg metro around the side of the garage, its runs and drives but it needs new sills and full hit of paint, £1500 would see it right with bodyshop. My brother and I (he convinced me) bought it 4 years ago for £300 I have been asked 3 times in 12 months to sell it, the last offer was £1250 I wanted to rip his hands off but my brother wants to do it up, yeah 4 years later.
