  1. There willl be a buyer for that Volvo out there even with a brutally honest advert it will be gone within a week at £995-£1495. Px to clear, no warranty and fingers crossed.
  2. Been snapping up good deals all week to be fair, I thought it had calmed down a touch?
  3. 14 For the month - all sorts cheapies and more expensive stuff. Love selling cars cant beat the buzz of a busy day in the trade. Managed to buy quite a bit this week at (what I consider to be) good money.
  4. Sorry to hear that, we have had a Focus stolen along with a few thefts and acts of vandalism and it is gutting. I think it would be best to put the cars in and indoor unit and if they are outside make sure they are blocked in by other cars. Maybe some of those metal bollards that would prevent them getting the car out. Ultimately if someone is tooled up with a generator and an angle grinder and they want it enough they will always find a way you can just make it as difficult as possible so they go somewhere else.

  6. That is a cheap Insignia. Good work. I do the same with cars that need a panel or 2 painting. Might get shot down for this but I don't really care what guides say on desirable cars to be honest. I pay what any car is worth to me leaving me scope to make profit on it. January is always mental though with a lot of groups holding stock back in Dec and then Auctions closing for Xmas, we are all on the back foot trying to replace stock. Another week or 2 and it will sort itself out.

  9. Pretty much exactly that. I always say all the main dealers use a similar facility and its perfectly normal nothing to worry about. It has never prevented a deal going ahead. On occasion I have written customer a letterhead subject to clearance letter explaining it will be settled very promptly, which are the rules with the stock funders anyway plus I want to get the money back on and buy more cars with it.
  10. Nick McDonald at A1 warranties is the man to speak to. He is a really good guy. No BS, no false promises just does what he says he will. The rest of the company are all great. Give me a ring or PM if you want any more info - we switched to them from warranty wise and have saved an absolute fortune.
  11. Very similar situation for us along with lots of worrying what we will do when someone goes. Staff member goes, we panic what will we do, ended up getting a couple of people saving money in the process and increasing efficiency who are both doing a better job.

  14. We had that on a Scirocco the other day - minter needed nothing doing and wanted something knocking off just because. Sold 2 days later for full whack and felt even sweeter. This Month has been quite good actually done a good few cars, far more than expected. Had 4 go today, who said December was a quiet month....
  15. Can anyone give me an idea where to price an A Class - prices are all over the show on Autotrader and I have taken it via PX. 36k DN10 XHS - Merc A Class Blue Efficiency Elegance SE 160 petrol. Immaculately clean and full history, 2 keys and drives very well. Where do you price it at?
  16. AT still ignore everyone. Dealers still give real world examples of the products could be adapted to work better. AT still no best. Price increase incoming.
  17. I learned not to sell the car to people as on certain occasions it is just not worth it. Previously I would have always took the deal in the view the car was well prepped and I had done my bit. Took me a bit of time to catch on that sometimes it will just simply never be enough. Its not something I do often but if someone is rude, confrontational, aggressive or hugely untrusting prior to buying the car and I sense trouble I will suggest its not for them. I have learned this the hard way and life is far to short to be dealing with these types. 2nd lesson - I have been a lot more thorough with the PX's than I was last year and avoided being lumbered with quite so many problematic cars.
  18. Quite strong on sales at the moment and just waiting for it to drop off a cliff at some point so trying to keep the momentum rolling. Over a car a day for the month so far with good profits in them.

  20. Was it one of those cars that comes in as a PX and the customer plucks a figure thats about a £1000 higher than you think and you trot our the old ' why has it got £1000 of XXX in the glove box' and the customer says 'well actually ....'
  21. Why do 'bad credit' customers as soon as the deal gets confirmed suddenly need the car instantly / 5 minutes ago now, now, now.

  25. Enjoy the holiday - Narcos season 2 is absolutely brilliant. Overall November has just not delivered for me. Worst month of the year, clawed it back a touch the last week or so but disappointing.
