  1. the simplest line is ask customer to phone before they set off you then wait like chamberlin waiting if no call comes then either forget them, sell to someone else, or just go home at your usual time if not this job will do your nut in and ive seen enough traders in my time go doolally
  2. i haven't got any answers but can i join the club please all same boxes ticked
  3. herded up on a saturday morning like sheep going to the abattoir whilst bloke with clipboard walks round
  4. of course they are what were they called again
  5. whys that then? put it this way you have a product people want your customer and the dealers of these fine automobiles havent so why not just say no
  6. You missed a bullet ,well done,if greed had got the better of us we might have not gone up the road but just checked it over and saw it went in gear
  7. so long as the land is not classed as public accessible then no you do not need to tax them your trade plates will cover you to get them there remember once in trade to your name you have 3 months before you need to register them in your name under dvla trader definition terms my trade plates are registered to my home ,this way dvla can always find me and im assured i got the renewal slip every year because mine comes due at xmas so its easy to forget
  8. 100 g sounds a lot but isnt really tread carefully and as said keep a tight rein on spending lots of guys ive known over the years go to the block and buy any old tat just to make the place look busy,do NOT do that consider most importantly what sells in your area
  9. and a £1 more than i valued it at buy that man a cigar
  10. im sorry but this car doesn't come anywhere near the demagogue market you really need a yaris sportif
  11. HI WELCOME i would suggest your first priority is security before you place a single car on the pitch
  12. cut a bit out of another audi whilst perusing the block and put it in yours with sticky back plastic,or stick a we been to bognor sticker on hole or see if local chips away can do a smart repair
  13. having been in the trade also a very long time i concur
  14. i stopped doing this because at 15psi on some cars it might just blow the radiator or pump seals better in my opinion is to check all levels go for mot let it stand with engine running while mot man has a fag and trips on the pipe hear fan cut in (get it on your pdi sheet) get it back to base and once cooler check for any coolant loss and or leaks i only use my pressure tester if leak known but cant find
  15. you are both forgetting that if he told customer it had a new gasket then you would assume it would last more than 3 months and so would a judge so please let the seller answer the question or its just a waste of time
  16. thats because its too dear innit
  17. no i basically do the same i too miss stuff but it is indeed swings and roundabouts im glad i dont do the auctions anymore
  18. did you tell the customer it had had a head gasket prior to purchase for starters
  19. if you read my post i never said i knock cars out with the current mot
  20. scrap them or as said brutal ebay advert but not auction ,insist buyer has seen all the good points as well as bad and write up a detailed receipt to cover your bum to be honest i prefer not to take crap in because even the batteries are usually original and you dont even find loose change under the seat runners anymore
  21. whys that? theres at least 2 mot stations within 5 miles of me that i would never take a car to so if i get a car in and see its been there it would stop me putting a bid on ,i once did an exhaustive check on a car i had bought only to find it had indeed come from a garage that has since been put on stop some of these places dont even see the car surely youve had cars in locally and after inspection you wonder how it ever got an mot ive got a 27000 mile car here on original tyres they are all bald as a coot its had advisories for 2 years on them and i expected when i collected it that by now the tyres would have been replaced, how wrong i was,now 4 tyres never come cheap and i hadnt considered this in my pre bid costings
