  1. Have you been in a bank lately, don’t get me started. I actually got ‘told off’ for queuing to pay cash in “when I could have used a machine!” Turkeys voting for Christmas?
  2. Thanks Casper. We’re still pushing on, scratching a living!
  3. I’ve seen a few posts from guys that have platinum cards feeling they are not be shown any respect from the auctions. They feel that the auctions should be ‘grateful’ in some respect? It seems to me that the auctions would rather sell more cars to newbies/small timers and earn more from their higher buyer premiums. Auctions have exploited the lockdown and tapped in to the current trend for everyone to have a ‘side hustle’ flipping cars. It’s easy to get trade insurance, it’s easy to open an auction account. There seems to be an endless stream of facebook chancers with a breakdown truck selling cars with their ambiguous trade with a small ‘t’ adverts? Even saw one yesterday with images taken in manheim Colchester car park!
  4. Works nicely for them? Plus they clearly feel they’ve been doing us all a huge favour operating like this?
  5. I remember when the ‘code extraction’ software was free if you knew where to look? Same with ‘mileage correction’. But then they gave it a simpler interface and packaged it up as a ‘side hustle’ business for £1500?
  6. Plus, don’t be surprised if these punitive ‘extra taxes’ aren’t applied nationwide at some point. I’ve noticed other cities picking ‘low emission zones’ (keep this to yourself but they do actually work). Punishing end users for the mistakes of industry seems to be the way forward for government. Motorists are a cash cow, and ‘ANPR zoning’ is a good, cost effective income generator for cash strapped local councils. So be warned, Its not just a London thing, it’s spreading like a cancer?
  7. Just as well you can now grow your own concrete?
  8. I’m a keen amateur photographer anyway. But as you say it’s easy for anyone to get excellent results with a little effort.
  9. Agee with the above. You need to put every effort into producing professional high quality images of your stock. Photography is now a huge part of the job and is always Time well spent!
  10. Its not heavy going, it’s just stating the obvious? I’m surprised they needed a university professor to tell us that HGV drivers need better incentivising? But, hardly surprising from a magazine that services the logistics industry?
  11. Sure, I don’t personally know any HGV drivers. As far as shortages go, I just go by what i see.
  12. So the reports of a massive industry wide shortage of HGV drivers is untrue?
  13. The only motivation issue is the lack of it from foreign HGV drivers to deliver our fuel?
  14. I thought it was the Wild West, but a new sheriff just rode into town!
  15. Those Polish lorry drivers must be really excited at the prospect of coming back to all the hate!
  16. I thought only teenagers thought electricity was free!
  17. Yeah I understand completely. The price volatility affects all of us? I wonder how niche markets have been affected, Supercars, RS/ST etc?
  18. And don’t get me started on those soft focus images that make scratches disappear! And special low res pictures on images with bodywork!
  19. I would be shitting myself that prices might slump back if I had a site full stock like that!
  20. Again, I wonder what it’s like for guys that source stock from private sellers? but you’re spot on with the bottom end of the market. The prices at the block can be insane for old shutters? Where’s the profit? I’m guessing it’s the fault of these youtubers making millions from ‘flipping cars’ that are creating an influx of newbies?
  21. The lack of moderation does seem to be the issue. Shame, because it was actually an interesting place, but now it’s become like the ‘wild west’. You’d think CDM would value a forum and encourage professionals? Weird?
