  1. For me it is dead until christmas is over. It booms in the week between Christmas and New year . Then we are plane sailing all the way until it dives again.
  2. You would just fill in the yellow motor trade slip so that it is assigned to you without putting another owner on the car. When it is sold, fill in the complete reg. document with the new keepers details and send it away, keeping the green new keepers supplement. You can use the reference number on the new keepers slip to tax the car online by selecting the new keeper option. Remember whilst it is un taxed it is not to be kept on the road. If you were to keep it on the road, you would have to register yourself as the new keeper and tax it yourself, making sure it is MOT'd and insured.
  3. Hi Wood 235, I have had those already. They are a load of bollocks and they now are permanently housed in the skip. Good Luck
  4. They give you the leads and you pay them. You have probably signed your rights away with them long ago. They will have a bigger legal team than you so I wouldn't think it would be worth the energy. Just ignore it and enjoy Christmas. I have always wondered why dealers block reg numbers, because the cars are on the forecourt and driving around with the reg numbers out and proud. It isn't something I particularly worry about, if someone wants to clone my cars, I don't have a problem with that. It is just one of those things that happens.
  5. I am lonely in my office today. Don't want to talk to anyone and don't really have that Friday feeling. I had my budgie put down this morning. My best friend of 13 years! Gone. Just want to give you the opportunity to cheer me up by sharing some crap cracker jokes that you have had at your Christmas Parties. James
  6. Gofaster. I use sun motors as they only charge you per lead. So what happens now ? I will appear on Motors but still pay per lead?
  7. RJ, YOU HAVE TO NAME AND SHAME. After all , we are all friends here and I am sure will all look out for one another.
  8. I was stung with a stolen credit card. Bye bye Audi TT. But the buyer was so nice and so genuine. He didn't even negotiate the price ! Thought I was in with a winner! ... the only thing you can do is laugh at yourself and learn never to make the mistake again. What else can you do? If I cried I would have drowned in a pool of my own tears.
  9. Sounds great Jim. Know one knows everything, so what a fantastic idea!
  10. Good Monday. Have you seen the Motab quiz that they are doing on the run up to Christmas? I am stuck and it is only question 1. How many cars were bought on Christmas Day last year from motability ? a) 17 345 c) 75 I think it is either a. because Dealers celebrate Christmas with their families and not motab. Then I thought that it could be b. as there are plenty of Dealers that do not celebrate Christmas so would still actively buy. Thanks, there is a £150 red letter experience day at stake here !!!!!!!!!
  11. I'm sorry I don't have a clue where they booked. Don't use books. Can't read.
  12. I had a good experience with BCA once with a key. The auction catalog said that were two keys with a BMW 1 series. (obviously the expensive wedge keys) so this was a bonus for me as it wasn't a cost I had to factor in. When the car was delivered, low and behold, only 1 key. I contacted BCA at the earliest opportunity and they were more than happy to reimburse me cost of a replacement key. Good Luck, James
  13. Hi Jack , That is really interesting. Do you mind me asking what your stock profile is like? I really want to bottle AT but have always been nervous to try eBay with newer cars. Thanks, James
  14. If I am going to be honest with you I do strongly believe it should be called 'Black, White, Brown and Yellow Friday' . Now I don't feel like I have been deliberately left out.
  15. But green giant. I am ashamed to say I was in Tesco last night and when the clock stuck midnight.... ALL HELL ACTUAL BROKE LOOSE. I have never seen anything like it. Unbelievable. And to be honest with you, I only was popping in with my other half to get some bread and cereals, forgetting it was this infamous Friday. To cut a long story short I walked away with over £1000 of shite. I have now got a 50 inch tv for the bedroom, and 32 incher for the living room, a 32 incher for the kitchen, a LG sound bar that doesn't fit on the tv stand as the tv is now too big. I bought a pair of apparently amazing headphones, in metallic blue. But they are wireless so worth every penny. obviously. and a blueray player which can go with one of the new tvs. A wireless printer that has no place in my life and a karcher vacuum window squeegee . Hate that.
  16. Yes it is great, I was just having a little surf around AS I AM SELLING NO CARS ! And came across that blog. Some of it is actually bang on correct. Love it
  17. That is what I want all customers to know That was found at : https://carbuyerhelp.wordpress.com/
  18. This is only guess work because I have been lucky enough to have the internet pretty much all my life, but there was a time where if you wanted a used car, you had to actually get off your backside and physically drive around different garages until you found the right one. This is where the sleazy car salesman would pounce on you and try to persuade you that his 7 seater 4 x 4 with a 4.0 litre petrol engine is what you really want and the 1.0 small eco hatchback you were actually looking for (which he doesn’t have) would just be too impractical. He would have used a guide book to price the car and then stuck an extra £500 on top so he wouldn’t be out of pocket when you wanted a huge discount. Those days are gone. You can now use Autotrader whilst watching X Factor, on your laptop, tablet or phone and trawl through over 443,000 cars for sale. That means you are not visiting 10 different forecourts before you purchase a car. You are only visiting one gigantic cyber forecourt, and the only way to make my car stand out to you and get to the top of your search results, is to make it the most competitively priced. If I stick £500 on top of the actual price, it wouldn’t even appear in your search results, no one would ever buy it and it would eventually become part of the garage scenery. I don’t want that. So when you turn up and want to buy the car, I already know that the reason you are here is because this car is the best priced for what you wanted. You have already compared my car with thousands of others, maybe without even realising it when Autotrader sorted your search results into price order. Then you ask for my best price. This is quite insulting when I have already tried my hardest to be the cheapest out there. I would happily consider it if you had found a cheaper one which is near identical. But you haven’t. You just want money off. Why? Why? Why? Discounts are a thing of the past now we have our friend, the internet. Please bare this in mind when you are looking at my rare car priced at £12000 and I can only give you £200 off to match a similar one which is located in Scotland. (True story) . Did you really expect to get it half price? I am sure the negotiating part of buying a car used to be a game, lets try and get the best price and the car dealer still makes heaps. It isn’t like that for me, I only ever advertise 10 of my cars at one time on Autotrader. That means if you had all the cars on Autotrader in front of you (which you do) and picked just one (which you do), I would have a 0.002% chance of you choosing one of mine. Please stop asking for money off. It upsets me to have to say no, then you get upset because you think I am ripping you off, which I wouldn’t dream of doing. Promise.

  20. When I last tried you can only do this via the app, and not the web site. Only on a computer. Please let me know if they have changed this though. And p.s. I forgot to mention about appraisal apps. If you find one or want to make one, let me know as I have been looking for something along those lines. Thanks James
  21. I have just had 'pricing dyslexia' taken to a new level. So I had a golf estate up for £11200 . Customers were very interested in part exchanging against it and did their "homework" before they arrived. They used we buy any car to value my golf, they accused me of ripping them off as WBAC would have paid £7000 for it and I have it up for over £4000 more! Well well well. This is a new situation. Although my golf was the cheapest in the area they were not happy that they were getting the best deal and were adamant that I was ripping them off. I tried to explain to the husband how WBAC works, but he "ALREADY KNOWS". Eurghh
  22. Hi Philip. I am a little tech savvy and love the apps. I am going to bore you and tell you what I have in the "work" app folder on my phone. Pages - Manage your facebook page more efficiently than the standard facebook app. VA - Cap's valuation anywhere, handy for when you are away from the desk. Manheim - Self explanatory. BCA - Self explanatory. Portal mobile - Autotraders dealer portal good for uploading photos taken with your phone but nothing else. I would always use the web based version as it is mobile and tablet optimised, however you can't upload photos this way. Autotrader- the customer facing app. Santander - for online banking on the move Adobe reader - this is great. Download your auction catalogues in .pdf format. Open them on your ipad and then you can use reader to annotate, add text, draw all over it. I find it mega useful for auctions. As the catalogues on the day sometimes don't have guide prices. Good garage scheme - so I can check out our amazing feedback HPI - hpi checks on the road. Ideal Numbers - spread sheets on the phone, Trainline - if you can't be arsed to drive and might be collecting a car, book a train ticket National rail - for when your train is then cancelled and you need to look for a replacement Waze - the best sat nav for when you are lost
  23. This was the best example for all the above comments. So the grade 4 Focus arrived. In my eyes, perfect exterior, no repairs at all needed. There was a full service history, great interior, nothing wrong at all. Whizzed through the MOT, had a service and pdi. and now sold to the customer. BAMMM Customer loved it
  24. I would also advise you not to get too caught up in all their stats, figures and amazing technologies. The only thing all this will tell you is to spend more money. In my opinion just keep it simple and go for the basic package without all the extra bits. I had all the extras and decided to cut them all off to save money, guess what.... no difference to the number of leads I was getting.
