Yeh I suppose, and if it is let out to 10 people in a month and 5 of them drive the crap out of it, over 3 years the car is going to be shagged!

Morning good people. Yesterday I was approached by a rep from a major rental firm. He just came and introduced himself as a Remarketing Account Manager and wanted me to come on board. What are you experiences with ex rentals? Are there certain things to look out for? Do they show more wear? I just need to hear your thoughts. Do you do well out of them, or would you just stay away? What camera do you use for taking car shots?
jamslug replied to jamslug's topic in General Dealer Chat
Seems like the iPhone is a favourite. I will give it ago and see how I get one. Thanks -
Hey again . Just thinking about getting a new camera for taking advert photos. So before I started looking, I wanted to find out what you are all using, and what you may recommend. I don't want anything that costs thousands but want something that does the job and does the job well. I would say max budget of £500 unless anyone is using something that they really rave about. It would be good to hear what you think. James

I was quite exctied to see a big glossy picture of myself in this issue of CD Magazine, and I hope to be your page 3 girl one day or maybe even the cover picture! After reading the article, I was quite dissapointed with 3 things; I was referred to as "Lugger" , not James or Mr Lugger , which is a little strange. I sold a Honda Cr-V , not CRB. It was a car , not a motorcycle , I don't even sell motorbikes . It isn't a nag or a complaint, because as the article said, I like reading the magazine and looking at the stats and figures, however I don't really want this to happen to any future interviewee, because it was a little embarassing.

I have gone as far as having VERY heated arguments with a couple people in the hall. Some of the older boys don't seem to like playing games with the younger ones. But never had anything like that. I see people tampering with cars all the time BEFORE the car goes though the hall, letting down tyres and scratching paint etc. But never had anything like that.

A customer took delivery of a 6 year old Honda Cr-V with 98,000 miles on Friday. I have received an email this morning with a photograpgh of a stonechip in the windscreen (which is attached to this) and he wants me 'to do something about it'. I don't believe it is something to worry about, and in my opinion the car exceeds the conditon expected of a vehicle of this age and mileage. He has explained to me that it will cost him £75 because of his windscreen policy excess, so he is not a happy bunny. He calls it significant, although, on the photo, if the key is pressed against the windscreen, it is a very very small chip. 'I have identified a significant defect extant upon delivery'. What would you do in the this situation?

Taxing a car without log book.. is it possible ?
jamslug replied to jamslug's topic in General Dealer Chat
Thanks Chris. The nice automated DVLA lady told me the lines were busy and then told me I can find my answer online and then ended the call. With our local offices now closed, I can't even speak to a real person anymore about a query. #angry -
I am in a little pickle. Customer is collecting his Golf at 6pm this evening. I am gathering all my bits to get all the tax for the due outs.... but have somehow misplaced Golf's log book. Is there a way or are there forms I can use to get the tax before he picks the car up? Thanks, James
